Setup
For this test, I'm going to use the following games:
Quake3 v1.30
Team Fortress, a popular Half-Life mod. (v1.1.8.0)
Here's the setup:
Windows 2000
FIC AD11 w/ 512 MB PC2100
Athlon T-Bird @ 1.36 GHz.
SB Live 5.1
VisionTek GF3 (250/560) 23.10 Det4 Drivers
Also, this article will use the following convention in order to differentiate between the 2 AA methods:
SSAA = Super-Sampling Anti Aliasing (hack)
MSAA = Multi-Sampling Anti-Aliasing (native)
Furthermore, unless otherwise noted, NO anisotropic filtering will be utilized. I will show
the effect of enabling this feature towards the end of the article, but it will be documented.
