Inno3D i-ChiLL Review - 1/28/08 @ 6:38 pm - By: MikeC - Source: N/A
We have completed a review of Inno3D's GeForce 8800 GT i-ChiLL graphics card, which features custom cooling by ArticCooling's Accelero X1 cooler. The Accelero X1 features a large 60mm cooling fan with technologies like fluid dynamic bearings, vibration absorbtion, heat pipes and voltage converter cooling.

Memorable quotes:

Compared to the results from the stock cooler, the Accelero X1 fan lowered temperatures four additional degrees at half the RPM. Better cooling with less fan noise...

With RivaTuner, clock speeds of 750MHz, 1675MHz, and 2300MHz were achieved, all of which are higher than the already overclocked core, shader, and memory clock speeds of 700MHz, 1500MHz, and 2000MHz...

XFX 8800 GT Review - 1/14/08 @ 6:06 am - By: MikeC - Source: N/A
Jonathan Martini has completed his review of the GeForce 8800 GT 512MB XXX Alpha Dog Edition from XFX. Jonathan first reports on the specifications of the graphics card then follows with information on the packaging and accessories.

After that, the fun really begins as he checks out 3D graphics performance in World In Conflict, Need For Speed: Pro Racer, Half-Life 2: Episode 2, Team Fortress 2, Gears of War and Call of Duty 4.

Has NVIDIA and XFX delivered another Grand Slam?

It's been over two months since NVIDIA has launched the GeForce 8800 GT. The new Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) has ushered in a new era of performance within the midrange market. An era, where a video card with an MSRP of $259 can be neck and neck with the GeForce 8800 GTX, a card with an MSRP nearly double that of the 8800 GT. It's easy to understand why these cards have been flying off the shelves.

XFX 8800 256MB - 1/07/08 @ 6:10 am - By: MikeC - Source: N/A
Brian Cochran has finished up his review of XFX's 256MB GeForce 8800 GT Alpha Dog Edition graphics card. Having recently reviewed a 512MB edition of the GeForce 8800 GT, Brian tests game performance at a resolution of 1680x1050 and uses antialiasing and high quality to determine the impact of having less video memory.

Games benchmarked feature frame rate per second graphs and consist of F.E.A.R., BioShock, Quake Wars, and Crysis.

The hot new graphics cards right now are based on the the affordable 8800GT chipset from nVidia. I recently received an XFX 8800GT Alpha Dog Edition graphics card for review. This card came in at standard 8800GT clocking with 256MB of DDR3 memory.

We will take a look at this card, run it through tests with some of the latest games, and then compare it to another 8800GT that I reviewed here recently. How does it stack up? The smaller amount of memory appeared to have made a drastic difference in a few cases. Overall, though, this is impressive card.
