Inno3D iChiLL Review - 5/20/08 @ 6:20 pm - By: MikeC - Source: Inno3D
Today we are taking a look at Inno3D's GeForce 9600 GT Hurricane, which is based on their iChiLL Series of graphics cards. This particular model features a custom cooling solution from ZEROtherm. What makes this product unique is that the cooling system, which consists of a heatsink, fan, and shroud, is separate from the graphics card and must be installed by the owner. The cooling system supports three types of configurations - overclocking, standard, and silent.

The ZEROtherm cooling solution was especially effective in the overclocking mode with the fan shroud removed. At load, the GPU reached a peak temperature of 51° C compared to the EVGA GeForce 9600 GT SSC, which recorded a peak temperature of 70° with stock cooling and fan running at 80% capacity. Although the fan speed of the Inno3D GeForce 9600 GT iChiLL Hurricane could not be controlled via NVIDIA's control panel applet, fan noise was hardly noticeable.

nHancer 2.4.1 - 5/12/08 @ 11:46 am - By: MikeC - Source: Email
Version 2.4.1 of nHancer was released a couple of days ago. New features include the following:
  • New graphical design for the logos, the splash window and the about window, made by Eberhard Klauke.

  • Completely redesigned user interface for profile management.

  • Support for all GeForce 9x00 cards and all GeForce (formerly Forceware) drivers up to 175.x.

  • Even the fixed settings in nVidia's predefined profiles can now be altered, including the "forbidden" flag used in some profiles to disallow anti-aliasing.

  • All profiles can also be reverted to their original state just by clicking on the "delete" button.

  • Added additional anti-aliasing modes for GeForce 8x00 and 9x00 cards. The mode "8xSQ" is especially interesting, it gives 2x2 supersampling and 2x multisampling.

  • Added new SLI modes for triple and quad SLI.

  • Added support for Hybrid-SLI.

  • Added anti-aliasing compatibility flags for DirectX 10.

  • Added OpenGL multi monitor and multi GPU options.

  • If nHancer is started with full administration privileges, it runs fine even without the nHancer support service. It's possible to deny the installation of the service altogether during nHancer's installation procedure.

NVIDIA Game Browser - 5/06/08 @ 9:53 am - By: MikeC - Source: Email
The Game Browser is Live!

NVIDIA has just launched a new way to quickly browse and find the games you're looking for on nZone. Whether you want to sort by genre, price, ESRB rating or any combination in between, the new nZone Game Browser has you covered.

This tool has been developed over the last several weeks by our web team and the nzone.com team. Over the next few weeks, the entire "catalog" of The Way It’s Meant to be Played titles will be available in the browser. Eventually, the plan is to allow advanced searches on game detail like development team information, games that will run on your system configuration and more.
