NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS Preview
Benchmark Configuration
During the time I've had the GeForce2 GTS reference card in my system, it became clear that it craves a fast CPU. The faster your CPU, the better the GeForce 2 GTS will perform. Based on its overall performance, I was pleased with the performance of the GeForce2 GTS in comparison to the GeForce 256 DDR - especially when overclocking.

Along with the standard bar chart benchmark results, I've included line graphs for some benchmarks that show the percent increase in frames per second of the GeForce2 GTS over the GeForce 256 DDR. The percent increase provides a relative number which can be used to roughly gauge the expected increase in performance on other processors. The benchmark configuration for this preview is based on the following:
- Pentium 3-550E @683MHz
- 128MB PC100 RAM
- Abit BH6 Mainboard
- Create Labs Annihilator Pro (GeForce 256 DDR)
- GeForce2 GTS 32MB AGP Reference Card
- Default Core and Memory Speeds
- Detonator Beta Driver Version 5.16
- Sound and Vsync Disabled
- 85MHz Monitor Refresh Rate
- Windows 98
The following software was used to benchmark the GeForce2 GTS:
- Quake 3 Arena
- Soldier of Fortune
- Starsiege Tribes
- Unreal Tournament
- Dagoth Moor Zoological Gardens
- 3DWinMark 2000
- 3DMark 2000
- Indy 3D
Now, on to the benchmarks!
