BENCHMARK RESULTS

MSI's GeForce 8800 GTX was used to benchmark Doom 3 and Far Cry. With high levels of antialiasing, the increased performance over the GeForce 7900 GTX and GeForce 7950 GX2 in Doom 3 is remarkable.

Doom 3 Benchmark Results

Far Cry results include the use of supersampling transparency antialiasing and High-Dynamic Range. In both cases, the MSI GeForce 8800 GTX is providing almost twice the performance over the GeForce 7900 GTX.

Far Cry Benchmark Results

EVGA's GeForce 8800 GTX was used to benchmark F.E.A.R. and Half-Life 2: Lost Coast and delivers unprecedented performance in both titles.

CONCLUSION

NVIDIA's GeForce 8800 GTX is a technological masterpiece that doubles, and sometimes triples, the performance over the previous generation GeForce 7900 GTX. The GeForce 8800 GTX clearly belongs in the hands of the hardcore gamer. The hardcore gamer will likely have a blazingly fast processor and a 24-inch or 30-inch widescreen monitor, which allows them to take advantage of all the GeForce 8800 GTX has to offer.

nV News Grand Slam Hardware

And with the launch of the nForce 680i SLI and nForce 650i SLI chipsets and news that NVIDIA will be designing and manufacturing motherboard, the community has another reason to be excited about the future of gaming on the PC.
