Albatron GeForce TC6200Q Review - Page 5 of 8

CALL OF DUTY

COD will initiate the game tests with a minimum of 3 runs of the timedemo at each resolution and graphic settings. An average of the resulting scores was then recorded in the table below. Specific resolutions used were: 800x600, 1024x768, and 1280X1024. Antialiasing (AA) and anisotropic filtering (AF) incorporated with specific resolutions were: No AA/AF, N0xAA/8xAF, 2xAA/NO AF, and 2xAA/8xAF. Timing frequencies for the NVIDIA TC6200 were default clocks (350/700) and 450/750 for overclock timings while the Albatron TC6200Q used 350/500 for default and 450/700 for the overclock. All in-game graphic settings were configured to the highest quality and sound was set in-game to Miles Fast 2D Positional Audio at 44kHz.

NVIDIA GeForce 6200 TurboCache 16MB/128MB - 450/750

The Albatron TC6200Q pulled off some good numbers in COD. Application of anisotropic filtering (AF) had very little impact while full screen antialiasing (FSAA), or just AA for short, had a severe impact approaching 50%. COD proved to be playable at 1024x768, 2xAA/8xAF, on the TC6200Q although I would personally recommend not using AA.

The GeForce TC6200 had a difficult time even at overclocked settings but did play well at a resolution of 800X600 with 8XAF and acceptable at 1024X768 with 8XAF. Higher resolutions or application of AA application is a no-go for the GeForce TC6200 as frame rates dropped below 40 FPS and game play reached unacceptable levels for me.

UNREAL TOURNAMENT 2004

A still popular fast-paced first person shooter, Unreal Tournament 2004 uses the latest Unreal Engine technology. UT2004 employs DX9 and Vertex and Pixel Shaders making it a viable benchmark for the latest in technologically advanced cards.

I prefer around an average of 60 FPS absolute minimum for playing first person shooters like UT2004. As you can see from the results on the TC6200 that limits the settings to 800x600, No AA/AF. Overclocking gains very little in this game.

The Albatron TC6200Q would be the obvious choice between the two cards for this game. Respectable frame rates at 640x480 and acceptable frame rates at 800x600. Overclocking did help, especially at 800x600.
