Creative Labs Annihilator Pro Review

GLQuake Benchmarks

It's not very often you run across GLQuake benchmarks in today's video card reviews. Call it nostalgia, but it's simple to benchmark and runs very, very, fast on the GeForce. With the Annihilator Pro, GLQuake is also probably the first shoot-em-up where playing at 1600x1200 is doable.

Notice that there is virtually no difference in performance between the Annihilator Pro and the GeForce SDR. However, GLQuake is about the only benchmark in this review where the Annihilator Pro does not outperform the GeForce SDR.

Benchmark Settings

  • Default configuration using the the following command line:

    glquake.exe -width ### -height ### -bpp 16 -heapsize 36000 -nosound -nojoy -nocdaudio -noipx +gl_finish 0 +gl_flashblend 1 +gl_keeptjunctions 0 +gl_polyblend 1 +gl_texturemode GL_LINEAR_MIPMAP_NEAREST +gl_ztrick 1 +r_mirroralpha 1 +r_novis 0 +r_shadows 0 +r_wateralpha 1 +viewsize 120 +stopdemo +timedemo demo1
