The packaging should provide adequate protection, especially considering that it
will be shipped in a well-packed box from most online retailers. Inside you will
find:
the NV 5 Silencer
instruction sheet (nothing specific for a 6800
Ultra though)
two backplates (one for the exhaust and the
other required for the necessary removal of the stock 6800 Ultra backplate)
thermal compound
four mounting screws
four mounting rubber grommets
case badge sticker

Here are some shots from various
angles. It really is a cool looking piece of equipment.

Exhaust
The bottom of the unit is obviously copper and not lapped by any means. It
has a smooth, but textured finish. The aluminum heat sink assembly
is a separate piece which is soldered onto the copper base. One can debate the
heat dissipation and heat transfer qualities of both copper and aluminum. I
didn't really have a problem with this approach instead of a solid copper block
as it likely kept the price down.
Soldered Memory Pads
The memory pads are both good and bad. There can be variances in the height of memory modules and the GPU on video
cards. These variances can present themselves in a variety of ways. At the same
time, however, it must equally be assumed that this copper base could have
variances as well. There's really no single answer/approach to these
possibilities. It's better to have too much material to start with than not
enough.
INSTALLATION The disassembly of the stock cooler will be straightforward for most of you. For those that are new to this sort of thing though, I've included a quick nine step image gallery to walk you through disassembly of the stock cooler. You can click on the image to see a larger
version (~1,000KB 1500x1200).
