PACKAGING
As of the writing of this article, there is no
retail
packaging for the BFG 6800 Ultra OC. So, for the near future at least,
you'll receive the card in a nondescript whitebox package.
Whitebox Package
It's kind of neat in a way to get a card like this. It's
sort of like a "secret package"...ooooh, wonder what's inside? ;)
Whitebox Unsheathed!
So, inside we have the 6800 Ultra OC in the requisite
anti-static bag. The card was secured between two 1/4" thick pieces of yellow
foam, each of which was in a bubble wrap baggie. I should add that this whitebox
was shipped in a larger box filled with packing peanuts. It did the trick as the
card arrived in excellent condition.
Also inside the whitebox was a: Quick Install Guide, Game
demo CD, Driver/Tech Demo CD, two VGA-DVI converters and two molex Y-splitter
cables.
CARD PHOTOS This is one serious piece of
equipment. It reminds me of a classic hot rod. Some people seem to like video cards
to be small and diminutive. This card is not small, it is
substantial and it is built like a brick you know what. Some SFF case
owners will likely shy away from the 6800 Ultra OC, but that's the beauty of
market segments.
