The Apogee AA5700U cooling mechanism consists of two fans that circulate air around a large heatsink that covers the graphics processing unit and memory modules. Each fan is lit with a blue LED and the bottom section of the heatsink is made of copper, as are the fins.
Chaintech FX5700 Ultra Apogee AA5700U
According to Chaintech, the GPU temperature on the Apogee AA5700U is 4° Celsius lower than a reference GeForce FX 5700 Ultra when operating under a normal load (38° Celsius vs. 42° Celsius) and 11° Celsius lower when operating under a heavy load (48° Celsius vs. 59° Celsius). This type of cooling performance should be beneficial when overclocking.

Memory Heatsink Fins
Chaintech makes use of a large plate to cool the memory on the backside of the graphics card. The plate covers a much larger surface than traditional memory heatsinks.
Backplate Cooler
The power adapter is oriented in a horizontal direction and is located near the right edge of the graphics card.
