The SLI configured EVGA 133-K8-NF41-AX with the 6800 GT cards prevailed over
the 7800GTX setup in this benchmark. The lone exceptions were in the CPU test
and the PS portion of the Feature tests.
AQUAMARK 3
To further test the graphic capabilities of the card configurations on this
motherboard AM3 was used to compare performance plus test the stability of the
board. The default test of 1024x768, 4xAF, was used to set the baseline score.
All benchmark detail settings at very high. The following table lists selected
tests results from the benchmark showing the performance attributes of both a
high-end single card and SLI configuration in this demanding benchmark.
AQUAMARK 3 - 7800GTX
AQUAMARK 3 - 6800 GTs (SLI)
AquaMark3 TRISCORE recorded 79.23 frames per second for the 7800GTX at
default benchmark settings of 1024x768, 4xAF, while the 6800 GTs in SLI scored a
close 78.52. The SLI cards held up and did not experience as severe a drop in
frame rates as the 7800GTX going from 1024x768 to 1600x1200. When AA and AF was
added both card configurations scored the same at 58.5 FPS.
Both card configurations ran very smooth through all tests with no noticeable
slowdowns. Overall the SLI setup had a very strong showing at 1600x1200, no
AA/AF, outperforming the 7800GTX by an average of 5 FPS. This strength was
further evident when looking at the render, simulation, and triangles results
where the SLI setup provided better numbers. When AA and AF was applied the
7800GTX provided better consistency although both setups were even in
performance results.
Again, the EVGA 133-K8-NF41-AX proved to be a good host for both single card
and SLI setups.
