UNREAL TOURNAMENT 2003
I used Tim "The Baron" Murray's
custom botmatch demo (1.2MB). The demo is a recording of a match with 5 bots
that takes place on the DM-Icetomb map and is around three minutes long. DM-Icetomb
is included in
Epic Bonus Pack I. Tim includes two batch files of which I used
"nvnews2.bat". The other file "nvnews.bat" focuses specifically on UT2003's AF
implementation (which is much slower than NVIDIAs). While very interesting, this
was beyond the scope of this review so that's why I'm using the more concise
second batch file.
Unreal Tournament 2003: DM-Icetomb
DM-Icetomb is one of the very most demanding UT2003 maps that you can throw
at a video card. This is why you do not see the inflated mid to upper 100fps
scores that are typical of the standard flyby and botmatch timedemos in DM-Antalus
and DM-Asbestos. We're attempting to push the card as much as UT2003 possibly
can push. It's pretty impressive to see that this demanding map is playable at
~60fps in all but the higher two resolutions at 4X AA 8XAF

There's really not much more to be said about UT2003 that hasn't already been
repeated ad nauseum. So, let's take a look at some cool screenshots of DM-Icetomb
that help to showcase its high polygon count floors and walls, many reflections
and light sources.
