MSI GeForce 7800GTX 512MB - Page 5 of 6

F.E.A.R. BENCHMARKS CONTINUED

From the results below it is clear that there is little to gain when going from 1GB to 2GB of system memory even along with a substantial CPU upgrade. F.E.A.R. is just that taxing. At lower resolutions the story would be different. The market for a card of this caliber is not geared towards low resolution gaming, though, which is why I focused on the higher 1280x960 and 1600x1200 resolutions with aggressive anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ w/ 2GB of Corsair XMS Twinx PC3500LLPRO

For those with experience playing F.E.A.R., (and recalling that I tested with all in-game settings maxed out) being able to maintain a healthy 30FPS average at 1600x1200 with 4XAA applied is impressive.
