Uniblue PowerSuite Review

INTRODUCTION

Last June we reviewed Registry Booster from Uniblue. Today, we're taking a quick look at the latest from Uniblue in the form of PowerSuite. PowerSuite includes RegistryBooster 2, SpeedUpMyPC 3 and SpyEraser. Since the time of the first review, Uniblue has been busy racking up the awards. They are now a Microsoft Certified Partner as well.
FEATURES

Below is a quick summary of the benefits of RegistryBooster 2, SpeedUpMyPC 3 and SpyEraser. Head over to the Uniblue website for far more detailed information, screenshots, and comparisons.

RegistryBooster2

  • Clean Your System and Boost Performance
  • Repair Your PC and Keep It Tuned
  • More Scanning Options
  • An Ignore List
  • Log Generation

SpeedUpMyPC3

  • Maximize your Internet Settings for faster downloading
  • Intelligent Advice to Predict and Prevent System Slowdowns and Crashes
  • Enhanced Security and Privacy Features

SpyEraser

  • Powerful Heuristic threat analysis tools
  • Real Time Online Defense protection
  • Intelligent Control Functions

All of the tools in PowerSuite claim to be "Exceptionally Simple to Use" which I fully agree with. It's clear that a great deal of time and effort went into the sleek interfaces. More than the good looks, the tools are very intuitive and have everything you would expect.

RESULTS

I tested PowerSuite on my office laptop which just happens to be booting slower lately. It's really in need of a re-image from the IT tech grunts. So, what better situation to put PowerSuite through its paces?

Before RegistryBooster2
47 sec to login
6' 11" to usable state in Windows (yeah, that bad, VPN, crazy login script, etc.)

After RegistryBooster2
45 sec to login
5' 35" to usable state in Windows. Considering the state of my laptop, this 36 second improvement was pretty impressive.

SpeedUPMyPC
It didn't really improve upon my boot times but it did reduce the time it took to load applications like Visual Studio .NET, Office 2007, Firefox, and other apps by couple of seconds. Their times to close down appeared to speed up as well. This may not sound like much but it has since been very noticeable using the laptop daily.

SpyEraser
My laptop was crystal clear of any malware to begin with so not much difference here. I can say that I like the options SpyEraser offers and it seemed to do a very thorough scan.

SpeedUpMyPC3

As with the previous Uniblue products, I was impressed with the PowerSuite help file. The PowerSuite help file continues by being organized, and very thorough.

CONCLUSION

I continue to be impressed with the quality software from Uniblue. The tools included in PowerSuite all ran without any problems, did what they claimed, and did not hog system resources while doing so. To get the most benefit from PowerSuite, you should keep them running most of the time.

Uniblue does a nice job of comparing RegistryBooster2 and SpeedUpMyPC3 to many of the other popular competing products. Check these comparisons out to see if what Uniblue has to offer is right for you.

Thanks to Uniblue for providing Registry Booster for our review.
