Crysis System Specs [October 09, 2007, 2:04 pm ET]
EA and Crytek are finally answering questions about system specs for Crysis with the official minimum and recommended system requirements for the upcoming first-person shooter:

Let the speculation come to an end! EA and Crytek are announcing today the minimum and recommended system specifications for the highly anticipated first person shooter Crysis.

Featuring some of the most jaw dropping visuals in a game on any platform, Crysis will not only be pushing the boundaries of all of the latest technologies like DX10, Nvidia’s GeForce 8800 series GPUs and Intel’s Core 2 CPUs, but will also be playable on gaming rigs up to 2-3 years old from the game’s November 16, 2007 ship date.

“Our vision for Crysis has always been to create the most stunning, immersive FPS experience ever, and we’ve been working hard not only to do that on the high end, but also in pushing current generation hardware so that everyone gets the maximum experience,” said Cevat Yerli, CEO of Crytek. “And while these specs affect how Crysis will perform now, we have also optimized Crysis so that the game scales forward 1-2 years --we want to make sure that Crysis’ gameplay, visuals and performance improves as technology does.”

Here are the minimum and recommended system requirements from Crytek and EA:

I can't imagine trying to play this on the minimum specs.

Hell, the recommended specs are still a stretch. :p

I ran it on my old Barton system with a 6800 GT OC. res was 800x600 and fps where 10 most of the time.

Very high is for DX10 i read so high is the highest on XP i guess. but what settings and how much AA would be nice to know or even what recommended res at thoose specs.

This game is pushing the graphic envelope. I expect it to run slowly on high end hardware. Anything less and they are dumbing down the gfx for the frame rate whores.:thumbdwn:

Ok, I go for Very High :), but don't know at what resolution

I expect it runs great on high end hardware, it's gonna play just fine

I hope that the retail build in single player mode at least runs a bit better then it does in multi.I have an Ultra here from eVGA sitting in the box, just
waiting for this...

Nope, rec seems to be around med/high with maybe 1280x1024 in the mp beta.

I think those rec specs are too high both because the rec will run it better than med settings and because they are just higher than they should be.

Wow they recommended Athlon 64 X2 4400+, that my CPU. I hope it run well in both single and multiplayer game, I used 1024x768, 16xAF, 8xAA and all options maxed in multiplayer, it ran lovely at 30 to 35fps. :)

1024*768, everything on high, no AA, no AF

But still under optimizing as the drivers and of course with debugging software in it, once everything is up to par, I think we can play the game fluently
