Humm in dx 9 in the beta is posible the sunshafts , the paralax with occlusion and some more features, like the DX10 screen . This not is the real diference into DX9 /DX10

Or maybe these added features run in DX10 with much less performance loss than in DX9.

Low detail looks like far cry.
You can also see they just added more bushes and longer draw distance in DX10 Very High.
I suppose DX10 is just all about the lighting. It looks more realistic.

You do know the sun shafts look now where near as good as the dx10 screenshot? also not verified...has anyone with a dx9 card been able to enable the sunshafts?

It's against the NDA to post screenshots of the beta so I don't recommend it but it's your choice.
By the way, the screenshots at incrysis were sent from Nvidia and are not based on the retail build either and Ron Taylor gave a hint that there will be more DX10 effects than just the four screenshots have shown.

The depth that is added to the rock/sand texture on very high is impressive, but shouldn't the color of the sand and the lighting be more like low and medium? The sun is in clear view on a sandy beach. I think the high and very high shots look too dark with the sand colors off.

Might actually be HDR/eye adaption effect since you face the sun. When sun is behind you, the sand should be a little bit ligher.

video is low quality, but this is the best area to see the sunshafts.
The DX9(High) screenshot is strange. There is no haze. However, the beta has haze just like in the dx10 screenshot.

i can imagine those leaves shimmering in motion.
is it 4x aa max and no trss, so it won't make the x360 look bad to people who can't tell that it looks like ****?
also, i'm concerned about the very high textures being blurrier than the high. i've come to a theory. there's no difference in dx10 between ati's af and nvidia's or so i've been told. in an af tester they look very different. i wonder if microsoft has made dx10 force filtering optimisations? I wouldn't be surprised.
i expect the highest quality af on the 8series to be removed from the 9 series.
damn, i wouldn't even have the transistors for anything but the highest quality mode.

In bump mapping, especially on the ground. Also look at the new screens DX9 vs. DX10 on Incrysis.com
Overall visual is quite noticeable and a bit more realistic lighting in DX10, as i said especially bumpmapping.
PS: i like the motion blur...

I sort of agree. Was really hoping for better higher res textures ALL OVER. Not just the ground.
