AMD are not only aiming the gaming experience while they are building the HD 2000 series. AMD want better HD video playback. They already have native HDMI support in RV610 and RV630.
And now AMD are going for RV620 and RV635. According to the sources, the RV620 and RV635 will have native DisplayPort output, doesnt need other video chip to support.
It seems that AMD are strengthen their playback ability to avoid the poor 3d performance affecting the sales. So we guess that AMD will not only add native DP support, they certainly will add more.
