So I just bought a Chaintech nForce2 Zenith, a Barton 2500, a 512Mb stick of PC3200, and a nice Akasa blue cooler. To cut a long story short it's my other halfs birthday soon and I have bought some bits for her that will enable me to give her my mobo + CPU and give her a half decent computer (she's never even had one before :o )
Anyway, my question is this. Does anyone think I will have major problems just swapping out my current mobo (CT 7KJD VIA) and putting the new one in, without formatting? Or more importantly, has anyone done this using Windows XP and had good results? I'm guessing the performance wouldn't be as good as a clean install, but I have some clan matches coming up and a lot of data to backup, so I want a quick fix that will enable me to play some matches before I back things up and reinstall XP, and everything else.
Nearly went for the A7N8X too, but the drive plate sold me on the Zenith. I'm a sucker for flashy things. :rolleyes:
