Hi, I'm trying to enable sound on my new Shuttle X computer. Here are a few details:

1) The Shuttle X computer is model SN41G2, with FN41 motherboard, nforce Crush 18G N.B. and MCP2 S.B. chipset, Realtek ALC 650 audio.

2) Installing the following did help with network and video support, but not sound:

NVIDIA_nforce-1.0-0248.rh80up_2.4.18_14.athlon.rpm
NVIDIA_nforce-1.0-0248.rh80up_2.4.18_17.athlon.rpm

3) The Redhat soundcard detection utility says:

Vendor: nVidia Corporation
Model: unknown device 10de:006b
Module: unknown

4) /var/log/messages says:

Cannot locate module sound-slot-0
Cannot locate module sound-service-0

5) Sound works find under Windows XP

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks
Dave

try using the i810-sound module in the kernel. if you are using a new kernel, nvaudio should be supported. (same for alsa: it is the intel8x0 driver you need.)
