Okay, I got a weird problem for you NVNEWS Guru's.

Installed Gigabyte X38-DQ6 mobo with Q6600 and my 7950GX2.

It appears that my 7950 is not working properly, I've installed the latest bios for mobo and the 163.75 beta's for the 7950(also tried older drivers). I've also installed the Microsoft Vista Multi-GPU hotfix and Multi-GPU is enabled in the control panel.

Now when I run 3DMark06 my best score is 4200(very dismal). All scores are small except the CPU score of 3549 which is normal. Playing games now I have to lower my settings to get decent frames.

So, how do I fix this? The mobo supports crossfire and maybe SLI in the future. I would think my 7950 should run 100% on any platform(not just SLI) since it only occupies one PCIEx slot.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

We'll I have heard they have drivers in testing to run SLI on a Crossfire X38 motherboard. Maybe this will help, I don't want to get a new video card just yet.

I think I have bigger issues with this PC. I think my MOBO is fried. It usually takes quit awhile before I can get it to POST. I usually have to take out a stick of memory and or switch slots to get it to boot. Now I've checked the memory using Memtest and there where no errors.

Can memory be faulty even though there are no errors given in Memtest?

I have exactly the same problem. Same gigabyte x38 board, Asus 7950gx2 graphics card. Score 3dm2k6 4200 on E6750, Vista Ultimate 64. Should be 8000-9000.
No clue atm why this happens. Graphics card seems to work in SLI mode (using nhancer). The card works fine in an Asus A8N SLI.

Update: The card runs definitely in SLI. Turning off on GPU even lowers the 3dm score from 4200 down to 2700. Retested the card in another computer and it is still working fine (under XP). Tested the X38 Computer with a 7900gtx an it scores as expected above 6000. Found two more users with the exact same problem: GB x38 board and 7950GX2 all score about 4200.
It feels like the card would be stuck in 2D clock speed. The fans are not getting loud and the CPU is on low load (about 25%) in 3DMark.

Update: 2D Clock is not the issue. According to Rivatuner clockspeed is at 500 MHz all the time.
