View Full Version : NERO 8 ANGERING ME EVEN MORE

I am almost ready to go back to XP, so far I've had 2 things that just out of the blue seem to be happening. I've done nothing, not even so much as saved a setting... and for some gay reason I buy a nice piece of software, since I was a previous owner of Nero 7, and I can't even use it.

I get this error with Nero 8

Sorry to hear your having issues with Nero 8 and Vista. I myself love Nero 8. I have just the basic pack to cut back on the clutter. It's just so streamlined now. I huge improvement over the mess that was 7.

Anyway first things first. Have you tried the Nero 8 Cleaner? http://www.nero.com/enu/support-nero8-tools-utilities.html

Uninstall, run the cleaner and reinstall and see if that helps.

Nero has really disappointed me since versions 4 and 5, which were my original burning suites back in the day. Too much clutter, too much crap. The only application I actually installed with 7 was Nero Burning ROM itself.

A basic install of 8 is really nice. They have really worked hard on the interface.

I hated it. I might not of given it enough time to go through it fully but from the minute I installed it it seemed slow and just bogged down my system. My system may be old but still. It didn't seem to run right. I didn't like it.

still using 6 here. works fine so never bothered to try other versions.

Serious? I love Nero 8. I've been making out with it all week. I would say go back to 6, but I'm not sure if 6 work under Vista.

There are free alternatives though. imgburn I think? If you do a lot of work with images it's a great app and saves on the Nero bloat.

Ya, I LOVE IMGburn. I use it all the time. I wish it could do more than just images though. It's an amazing program.

that shampoo program is good as well.

I'm currently using nero8 because i still like some of the extra programs. I usually install burning rom, vision, recorde, label maker (for LS).

Ya, I LOVE IMGburn. I use it all the time. I wish it could do more than just images though. It's an amazing program.
umm....it can.....change into build mode, and change the output to burner rather than image....then you just add folders/files like usual....

this is why I don't even mess around with CD and DVD burning anymore. I just back everything up to a flash drive. MUCH less headache.

Possible solutions were posted, he never got back, so what if we talked amongst ourselves for a bit? You haven't even helped or added anything useful, so you hush kthnx. dah :thumbdwn:

Im having no issues with nero 8, all i ever install is nero burning rom & nero vision! .... never had any vista\nero problems! ..... runs sweet.

My apologies for not getting back - none worked.. I tried them all. It appears to be that Nero 8 is just not going to work correctly. I just cannot use StartSmart.. I will format sometime soon though so I can get my raid array setup (I got my other 150 GB Raptor yesterday)

On a side note how come when people reply to you're thread it doesn't show under newpost? I usually just click newpost at the top and use that, and this thread hasn't shown up what so ever. I just happen to see it under the Forum Index as I was scrolling down.
