nvidia problems: 1400x1050

hi!

i tried to install the nvidia driver on my notebook which is capable of handling 1400x1050 pixels.i have no problems using the nv driver. when i try to switch to the nvidia driver it says something like "no screens available". it works fine with a resolution of 1024x768, but thats not enough for me ::)

by the way: nvidia geforce 2go, pentium 4m 2ghz, suse 8.1

As the "if you have problems, please read this thread first" thread says, we're going to need a bit more info. In your case, the full X log from a startx -- -logverbose 5 session. Use the nVidia drivers when you do this, and have it configured to use the resolution that doesn't work.

The log file is /var/log/XFree86.0.log. Copy it to somewhere else (like your home directory) right after startx fails, so that it doesn't get overwritten later. Then attach it to your next post.
