"THERE WERE SOME problems with the G92 numbers we put out a bit ago, namely they were 3DMark05. The problem, this bench is seriously CPU bound at default resolutions."

NV is taking the same old route, ATI is turning hard left, who will win? Right now it is a tie, and based on OEM orders, an ATI clean sweep.
Where is this ATI mystery card that beats the 8800GTX? I feel like ive been missing out

I think it's the RV670? I've been in the dark with ATI's cards.

ATI RV670 is Radeon HD 3800 Series

According to VR-Zone, the official name for AMD/ATI's RV670 will be Radeon HD 3000 series. Previously codenamed Radeon HD 2950 series, today one of the AIB partners - GeCube has even listed out Radeon HD 3800 on their website. AMD has also decided to drop PRO, XT, GT, XTX from their future HD 3000 series graphics cards. The last 2 digits of the model name will determine the performance of the card. For example RV670PRO will be known as Radeon HD 3850 while RV670XT will be known as Radeon HD 3870 when they are launched on November 15th.

RV670 (3800) is still the mid card. (G92 level) R670XT and XTX (3900Pro and 3900XT?) are the better cards.

There is no Pro, XT, XTX or GT anymore. Only numbers ;)

I still can't believe that Nvidia don't have a high end card round the corner. Crysis is not going to run well at 1920 x 1200 with AA and AF on my card.

8800gt 512mb (http://www.compsource.com/ttechnote.asp?part_no=VCG88512GXPB&vid=356&src=F) for only $253 :D
And final specs (http://www.foxconnchannel.com/product/GraphicCards/detail_spec.aspx?ID=en-us0000048) from foxconn.

Higher clocks, more units, single slot cooling, lower fab process (better overclocking ?), cheaper vs more ram and wider memory bus (8800GTS 640)... damn you Nvidia (naw)

An Ultra can only average 36FPS there.

Maybe not. FSAA is what really sucks up the bandwidth. Without it, maybe the GT can keep up with the big boys.

Actually, at that low of a resolution, with no anti-aliasing? I think a small FPS difference is correct, I mean the 640GTS and 320GTS are basically the same card (aside from the obvious memory difference). Turn up the res and the AA, and the 640 and the GTX will really shine, leaving even the 8800GT in the dust I bet.

u maybe right but i just cant belive the 320GT is basiclly the same card i dont get it.

you guys with GTS's and Ultras can run those benchmarks and see if at least their in the ballpark as publish.it168.com's numbers.

Go to My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3 Demo\UTGame\Config\
open UTEngine.ini and find:

[Engine.GameEngine]
bSmoothFrameRate=TRUE
MinSmoothedFrameRate=22
MaxSmoothedFrameRate=62

change bSmoothFrameRate=TRUE to FALSE or MaxSmoothedFrameRate=62 to 999. Either way works.
