I have an HP A7217A 24" CRT monitor. In XP, my max resolution is 1920x1440. In Vista, it's 2048x1536. Is there any way to get XP to be able to go to 2048x1536? The monitor in both OS'es shows up as Generic PnP monitor. I've tried researching this but I can't find jack :thumbdwn: lol

add custom resolution.

it's a feature the older nvidia XP drivers had, i assume they still do.

anyone verify this?

How do you add a custom resolution? I do have the latest NVIDIA drivers but it's always been 1920x1440 as the highest resolution in XP for the last 2 years with this 24" monitor.

Isn't the PnP Monitor basically outside of the NVIDIA driver though? I was thinking it was just an XP thing but  *shrug*

anything that my monitor classes as "user defined resolution" vista doesnt want to show me ,"Unhide resolutions my monitor cant handle" isnt an option in the driver interface
xp is fine up to 2560x1600 in the desktop but I cant actually play anything over 1600x1200.

Easy to fix......grab the driver for your monitor http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?&lang=en&cc=us&pnameOID=77452&taskId=135&prodTypeId=382087&prodSeriesId=77450&submit.y=4&submit.x=6&lang=en&cc=us

My compaq p1220 22" Crt has lower resoltions available until I install the driver, after that it will go 2048x1536@75hz:headexplode:

You owe me a pint:p

They don't have a driver for XP :( I tried the Win2K one but it didn't like it.
