Dungeon Siege if you don't already have it. Should be relatively cheap now too.
Depends on what sort of games you enjoy, but I'll be playing only RavenShield for at least the next year ;)

How about a list of all the newer games you already own. I'd have to say get Neverwinters Nights or GTA 3. Those will keep you busy for quite a while. :D

I really don't have any newer games on computer. The last game i bought was on XBOX.
I would dl demos and just decide that way. 3dgamers is a great place for that. They have screen shots for most games and the demos. I usually see a name of a game that sounds cool/fun/lame and check out the screen shots then dl the demo. Of course only if you don't have dial-up. Hell even if you do go for it, just let it dl over night.
cheers

Here Are The Specs:
Intel Pentium 4 2.4GHz
256MB DDR Ram
Intergrated Sound
Nvidia Geforce 2 MX400
DSL
CDRW
Unreal Tournament GOTY edition
Quake III Team Arena
The Sims
Serious Sam
These games would all run very fluidly on your setup...
*IF* it's something you want to get into, you could benifit from a larger selection of playable games by trading up on video cards...
THere are many out there to choose from which allows you to upgrade incrementally or *the whole shebang*...

Diablo and Diablo 2. Both can be picked up for less than $20 now. Very addictive. Very fun.

If you liked Diablo then I recomend a game called Darkstone. Great game. The autorun to location feature is awsome. Music is great. Graphics are 3D instead of 2d rendered AND you can find it for $5-10.

Dungeon Siege, Splinter Cell, and Tiger Woods Golf 2003 are the best games I've played in the last year.

Some games that I've had the most fun with in the past (I'm mostly an RPG buff, in case you can't tell...):
Baldur's Gate
Baldur's Gate 2 (fixed most of the annoyances of the original, and tends to be more fun)
Planescape: Torment (Excellent, excellent RPG)
Fallout
Fallout 2 (You can get these two games for $10 together from interplay.com!)
Starcraft (Gotta have the Broodwar expansion for this one...good multiplayer RTS)
Neverwinter Nights (excellent multiplayer, lots of great modules)
Freespace 2 (excellent space combat sim: must have good joystick!)
Alien vs. Predator (great FPS, haven't played the sequel, though it's said to also be very good)

Just go get yourself a copy of Alpha Centauri and all your gaming troubles will go bye bye. :D
Games I own that I love:
Tribes 2
Mechwarrior 4
Warlords III
Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force
Star Trek: Bridge Commander
Age of Empires 2
Neverwinter Nights
Grand Theft Auto 3
Unreal Tournament
Morrowind
Warlords III is rather old but great fun. Plus you can hotseat it for multiplayer.

Good list :)
Fallout 1+2 can be had for 10 bucks at Walmart too, as can Planescape Tourment. All are excellent RPGs, Fallouts are my favorites. I recommend both Freespace 1 and 2, best space-sim games ever.
I would also add Homeworld (10 bucks from walmart) and HW: Cataclysm, which you can sometimes find for 10 bucks in the EB bargain bin. They are 3D space-based RPGs with an excellent story line.
I think everyone is being a bit to critical about videocards. C&C Generals would probably run just fine on an MX400 at 640x480, I'm assuming he's not planing on playing at 1600x1200x32 with 4x AA on:p
Anwway, System Shock 2 is a godly game, get it right now or I'll come to your house and beat you up! Well, maybe not, but get System Shock 2, heh. Fallout is really fun too.

I've lost alot of sleep with:
Morrowind, and Tribunal add on.
Ghost recon
Microsoft Motocross madness 2
Star trek voyager elite force
You Might want to upgrade Your vidoe card to something that doesn't have MX in it's name. Even a Gforce 3 ti 200.
