View Full Version : Kimi FTW !!!
Great victory for Ferrari and some vindication after the whole spying scandal of which they were the victim.
Kimi drove a great race. Regarding Hamilton, I am not a big fan of his. He is being touted, a la Lebron, as the savior of the sport and as such many things are just allowed to be let go.
As big a fan of Schumi's as I was since his days at Benneton, I still had respect for Alonso. Hamilton is another cup of tea. But he is a talented driver :)
Kimi managed the perfect drive and him and Massa could be formidable for a few more years, unless Alonso leaves and Ferrari want him.
I do not see Alonso in Ferrari, too much infighting for who's no.1 driver etc? Ferrari's setup right now is perfect for them...no.1 and no.2 Wasn't it rumored that he might move back to Renault?
I rooted for Hamilton, not because of the hype well, none now since he has proven himself but, I wished for a rookie world champion which has never happened before.
At the end of the day, Kimi won the championship with authority and he can be proud of it, the first time in ages when it has gone down to the last race with 3 drivers who could win it. I want more of this next season!! F1 looking good for the future
Very unlucky race for Hamilton. That gearbox hydraulics problem cost him the title. Entertaining race overall. Ferrari had some sly tactics off the line.
McLaren are now fussing over Ferrari loading their cars with fuel that was too cold, be I can't see them getting anywhere with it though. I can't see that it would make a massive difference, certainly not enough to stop Hamilton getting his title.
F1 is alot better than it was in the Schumacher days. It got pretty damn boring. It's a pitty Button hasn't got a better car too. He's been driving well this season.

Justice has been done. I'm happy McLaren didn't win anything this year, I'm really sorry because I'm a big Alonso fan, but that's what Ron Dennis deserves. He has bid only on Hamilton and the british has failed miserably. He didn't need to regain position, he should have let the Ferraris and Alonso go and just finish 4th, or try to overtake Alonso at pitstop. When you are in this situation you can't take innecesary risks. He's a rookie and he has proved it. He's an excellent driver, and I think he has potential to become world champion some day.
In those extreme situations if McLaren wanted the pilot championship they should have give Alonso the same opportunity. But Ron only wanted Hamilton's victory, he wanted to be sure that Alonso couldn't win the championship. So he did, I don't know what did they do to his car, but Alonso car was one of the slowest. And when the golden boy failed, Alonso didn't have a chance to fight for the title.
And after the race, McLaren still denounced BMW and Williams???. Screw you, Ron Dennis. I hope Alonso returns to Renault again and then he gets the treatment he deserves.

I'm a huge Mercedes fan, man that was a devastating evening yesterday.... I still can't believe it :(

Unlucky? Not. His hydraulic issues couldn't have been related to two off track excursions that were COMPLETELY unnecessary, could they? All he had to do was come in fourth, but I get the impression he wanted to podium so he could celebrate in Kimi's and, more importantly, Fred's face.
Mclaren is appealing to get BMW and Rosberg's Williams DQ'ed even though the FIA already dropped the potential penalty. Waaaahhh. IIRC, McLaren and Hamilton did not get penalised for breaking the wet tire rules in Friday practice.
Good season. Happy the cheaters did not win. Grats Kimi.

I would also like for a third constructor to also play a bigger part in the championship, because ATM it's basically a two-horse race.

Hoping my boys from BMW can take teh next step. They are clearly the best of the rest. Next year's car is said to be a pretty good leap forward.

Congrats Kimster!!! And let's hope for at least a three horse race next year. IMO, Red Bull, BMW, and Williams all have a chance to make the jump. Webber and Rosberg looked really good in the last few races...

Of course he wants. And everybody except Ron Dennis, Hamilton and his father want it too. I don't see any sign of the famous British fair play on McLaren. Hamilton was not punished after what McLaren did with wet-tyres on the training session, and the Formula 1 rules say that the pilot must be punished with a 10 position penalty. This year is not a good example of Formula 1 rules application.
They want the title at all cost, a title that Hamilton lose on the track because of his blind attemp to pass Alonso.
McLaren better moved on and started planning next year, they need a lot (A LOT) of changes. The first should be Ron Dennis himself.
Yea I'm pretty sure the FIA is going to let this one bye. No DQ's for anyone, kimi drove a great race and if Lewis wouldnt have gone off the track twice he wouldnt have lost his gearbox sensor. What I'm waiting for is to see if Alonso stays with Mclaren, everyone is waiting to see where he's going before finalizing their drivers list for 08.

His reasons for it, as "un-teamlike" as they may sound, are accurate.
In the spirit of the sport, the appeal is just wrong and as it stands, previous precedence means that there will be no loss of driver's points.
and so, it continues .... the great struggle to decide who will be the 2007 F1 champ. Kimi won where it counts, on the track, whilst McLaren is trying to win the championship in the courts. if several teams cheated or used fuel, that, for some reason did not conform to regulations, the teams should be penalized, not the drivers, and especially not Raikonnen (who had no control whatsoever what other teams did):

I hate Mclaren. Horrible team with Horrible drivers.
McLaren's appeal has been denied, Kimi is still the champ. now i hope this matter has been finally settled and everyone starts to focus on next year. :)

McLaren filed the wrong appeal? wha wha what?
McLaren seems to not know the rules, which are admittedly absurdly complex, since the appeal was "denied because the team had no direct interest in protesting the stewards decision".
don't ya love technicalities?

Hamilton still believed no matter what the result of the appeal that Kimi deserved the championship since he won it on the track. methinks he has displayed more character then some of the team principles at McLaren:

Finally... the FIA took the right decision, Kimi IS THE WORLD CHAMP, now to focus on next year..read today that some technicians on McLaren miss Alonso when tuning the car....
I wonder when they are going to announce where fernando is going!? I think that last move by Mclaren was a mistake, that just makes them look like whiney little bitches

I am guessing that Fernando will be off to Renault imo anyway I think that is a mistake I don't see Renault being as competive as McLaren next year but we will see.
