hi,
I've installed RH9,
everythings works fine but as soon as I open either Mozilla or Konqueror to browse the internet after few seconds (sometimes even longer) my com freezes, when I say freezes I mean everything freezes nothing works, mouse or keyboard,
I can hit only reset button :(
BTW I have:
AMD XP 2000
Guillemot Maxi Gamer Cougar TNT2 M64 (http://www.anandtech.com/showdoc.html?i=1112)
256MB Ram
is it gonna help if I download drivers http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=linux
can anyone help me with this?
thanx

anyone?
Which version of KDE, and which version of Mozilla? Could be bugs in either of them.
Does ctrl-alt-backspace kill off X when it "locks"?
Hang on, are you actually using the nVidia drivers now?

thanx bwkaz for reply,
KDE version is 3.1 I think that comes with RH9,
it locks with either Mozilla or Konqueror, but if I'm just going
thru folders it won't lockup, but as soon as I open them and start browsing internet, it locksup, and nothing helps not even ctrl-alt-backspace only reset button, and drivers are from RH9 it recognized my graphic card, actually the chip TNT2,
thanx
This doesn't sound like any problem that nVidia can help with. The driver that RH ships with (due to licensing issues -- they can't distribute the nVidia binaries unless they can also provide sources, which they can't do) is written by the XFree86 people, independently of nVidia.
What kind of network card is this? Or is it a network card? Modem? What kind, if so?
Are you using some closed-source drivers for either the network card or the modem?

Problem solved :) damn I'm happy,
thanx bwkaz for your suggestion about network card,
the one which was in in my com was D-Link but older model (it worked fine under windows) so I took other network card from my other com also D-link but a newer model, and I didn't had any crash :D , now before that I also switched graphic cards and put ATI Radeon 8500 (my old D-Link was still in) from my other com and it also worked with no crash, but I gotta say I tried that for 10 min so crash could happen after that, but now I'm surfing the net for more then a hour and no crash, anyway it was obvious that crash happend only after I got internet, so network card was the problem
