I recently bought a Galaxy 7900GS AGP (550/1600). Since then I get lock-ups in games. @ default frequency PC locks up 1-2 mins into the game. If I OC (using ATi Tool) core goes up to ~650Mhz and PC locks. mem goes to about 1950. If I UC the core to about 400Mhz, I can play for about 1/2 an hour then it locks up. Before the 7900GS my PC ran flawlessly, not a single lock or blue screen since I build it (2 yrs)

I don't know what to do. Some people said that it's the PSU's fault, that it's too weak and can't handle it all. I tried with a 450W PSU and got the same behavior. I tend to believe that it's card's fault.

Temps are ~55 idle 67 burn

System:
Allied 350W real PSU (3.3V 28A, 5V 28A, 12V 19A)
MB Gigabyte k8ns Pro
CPU AMD Athlon64 3000+
RAM 1GB OCZ Value Ram
HDD 2x WD 160GB
VGA Galaxy 7900GS 259MB AGP
M-audio Audiophile 2496
1 ASUS DVD-RW

Could be bad thermal paste application by the vendor.

Could be a bad fan.

...And saying nobody is smart enough isn't a way to get help :P.

seems it worked :P

can't be that since I changed the thermal paste to ACM2. The default one was pityfull. Looked like cement and was poorely applied. temps dropped to what I said earlyer.

OT: I tried changing fan speed with Riva Tuner but it doesn't work. how can I make it work?
