Will isn't that the truth. They don't make ****, so why would they even give a **** to know more about what you want? Wal-Mart employees don't care the least about you're shopping experience. Can you do me a favor and make your sig a tad longer? I don't quite have to scroll down to be able to read it all. :p

I could've sworn the article on Engadget said the sale wasn't starting until 11/3 or something like that.

Some places have been starting the sale early.

Not the ones I worked with when I was in electronics (I left wal-mart a month ago... thank GOD :p).

Acting like a clueless moron doesn't help you out in customer service, it just makes the customer frustrated and doesn't tend to do you any good.

That said, you have to understand how new this technology is. Most people (especially most wal-mart employees) don't have an HDTV, let alone have an HD-DVD or BluRay player to actually take advantage of it.

Its no surprise that some people wouldn't even know what they were.

The wal-mart I worked at had a maximum of 3 blu ray or HDDVD movies at any given time and they just sort of floated around and got stuck on various racks because no one has any players for them and we had no reason to make a whole new section for 3 movies.

I know its annoying when they don't know squat about the things they are selling, but most people aren't as tech savvy as us. I had to teach most of the people I worked with about a lot of the things we were selling, and they had worked for wal-mart for between 3 and 8 years.

Expect knowledge of HD formats to pick up considerably after stores actually start selling the players and they become an item that the average person knows about and has a need for.

WOOOHOOO I finally got a A2 @ Circuit City ($197.00) it was the last one and I had to drive 38 miles to get it, thank god the lady saved it for me!!!! I hooked it up and watched Transformers HD-DVD (the only one I bought) and I must say it blew me away omg it was incredible. No more dvd's for me only HD-DVD's, I don't think after seeing these prices on HD-DVD players that Blew-Ray has a chance in hell. On a side note there was a A3 that came with 2 HD-DVD's (300 and something else can't remember) for $299.00, WOW. I will get a top of the line Toshiba HD-DVD player once I get a new 1080P TV but for now 720P looks kickass to me. I can't wait to see the sales numbers of the last quarter of 2007 HD-DVD players. :captnkill: :captnkill:

I have Blu-Ray already (PS3), so I will probably wait for the A3 to come down to the $249 delta, then pull the trigger since I DO want an HD-DVD Player as well...The only thing that will stop that is if I can pick up a Blu-Ray/HD-DVD Hybrid that can do all of the cool stuff from both at under $500, though that doesn't seem likely any time soon...

Just as an FYI the guts of the HD-A3 are virtually identical to the A2. Same processors, same software/menus, specs, startup time, etc. The main differences are cosmetic and positioning of the disc tray. So if you can find an A2 cheap, I'd go for it.

What makes you think you're ruined? Maybe you just need a hug... :wonder:
