What is the Ultimate Gaming Experience?

Now that I started console gaming again I realize how wonderful it is to play games on a big screen with big surround sound while reclining on a couch instead of sitting at a desk like I do all day at work.

The only negatives to console gaming are:
1. Gamepad not as accurate as mouse & keyboad.
2. Graphic resolution usually not as high as PC

For me the Ultimate Gaming Experience would be.
1. A 8800GTX/C2D Vista PC conntected to a large 1080p Plasma (or LCD).
2. Using wireless keyboard and mouse while reclining on my couch.

Problems:
I don't think using a mouse on a couch would be too comfortable. What is the best solution?

I'm thinking maybe a wireless keyboard with a built in trackball (if that exists).

Ideally I would want a gamepad that uses a trackball and has tons of buttons I can map to keyboard.

Suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm using one of these super comfortable big office chairs that you can lean back put your legs up (like these TV chairs, or first class plane chairs). It's very comfortable and plenty of room is left to place the keyboard and mouse/mousepad on my thighs. Distance from the 46" FullHD Sharp is approx 4-5ft. :)

I believe they also have keyboards with attached mousepad trays like here (the black one):

Agentkay,

I think that simple cover mouse pad over the keypad may do the trick.

I was thinking of getting a decent projector. That way I could have a 90 inch screen. But I would have to see it running to judge if the colors are vibrant enough.

I found some controllers...
