This guy has a C2E with gf8800gtx and 4GB ram, plays at 1280x1024 on Very High with Vista Ultimate 64bit.

And he gets 23 fps at that spot (Notice the amazing rocks too...). Sometimes it goes up to 40 fps apparently.

I love how the devs boasted about their game being able to run well on older hardware and it barely handles itself on such a powerful machine at a relatively low resolution.

Let's see if the new drivers help. I doubt they'll make a *drastic* difference.

w00t for low res rocks and no shadows where the rocks hit the ground. Looks like a 4 year old game right there...

Can we get some confirmation on the following:

SLI working?
dual and quad core support?
FSAA working properly?
DX10 working?
proper widescreen support?
demos size installed?
full high res textures in demo?

reminds me of startroopers from 2 years ago heh.

Here's where we get flammed for ripping on the kick ass low res rocks from the origina counter-strike. =/

Wow,just... WOW... at the so so graphics shots shown this morning,and truly,and astonishingly abysmal performance,on hardware that should rip this game a new one on very high @ at least 16x12 !!! :headexplode:

*Remembers back to the 8800 launch with Cervat showing the game running at high res with tons of killer graphics and great performance on a single GTX*

WTFH happened from launch til now !!? They were doing optimizations ?? Yeah right ! :D 7.7 FPS ??!! This is laughable at best.

I think I may skip this altogether until the G100 is out.

It's good for running new games like Jericho, Call of Duty 4, etc. Crysis is just a buggy, unoptimized pile of crap right now.

again, u dont have edge smoothing on as those pics show for a fact. if u did ur fps would be much lower. must be something wrong with YOUR setup since edge smoothing isnt being turned on

You're partially right. When I went back and checked it was disabled. I had to reinstall the demo after I set my overclock on my card because it corrupted the file and wouldn't play, and I think it reset that.

But where you're wrong is it still plays ~45fps with 4x edge-smoothing enabled and everything on high. I tried it just last night. If yours is at 30fps, then I'd advise you to tune your system. My Ultra shouldn't be ~15fps faster than your GTX.

The game still runs great w/ 4x edge-smoothing enabled, so you can quit with your BS. In many places I still get up to 55fps.

Here is a shot of that same location as last night w/ 4x edge-smoothing enabled. I only lost around 10-12fps:

Wasnt going to post on this thread but honestly the entertainment value from some of these post are great.
I had the beta MP on my system didnt bother with it much from the sh#T performance I was getting on what I consider a good rig.

Why do i get the feeling they optimized the game for future graphics cards and gave up on the hardware that is available today.

Judging by some of the images I'd say DX10 was on. My framerate sucked like some have already mentioned. Roughly 34 avg...dipps down to 17.:thumbdwn: Guess thats what we get for getting ripped off with a prerelease demo.

So theres no gore in the game and you can't shoot the dead bodies like you could do in Far Cry. That sucks.
