doesnt run too bad on high, 2x aa at a res. of 1280x1024. 30fps + consistantly.

very nice. (for now) ;)

Well , I have a 1280 x 720 videoproyector, maybe will possible run in very high :D . I love the low resolution :D

Jesus Christ people. You have performance issues? Then do a simple thing. Run the game at DX9 and enable via the .cfg files some of the very high settings. If this demo runs as good as the MP beta then i will enjoy it, as i was running the MP beta at 1024x768 + 16xCSAA+16xAF with Very High/High settings. Just tweak it ;)

The low performance is just disturbing. Even on medium settings (1680x1050) the game chokes. How are the SLI people doing?

Very good to know because I have almost the same config:
E6300 @ 2.97Ghz
2 x 1GB RAM generic :(
8800GTS 320Mb wich maybe is enough to 1280x1024 resolution

iF I play @ High it's fine!

and what about xp vs vista on dx9?

The game actually looks way better then those screens in this topic which are blurred due compression or something else.
It looks incredible in real time. But we need much faster gfxcards to play this in full glory at a steady 50-60 fps.

I (in dx10) get 10-12 fps in 1600x1200x16AFx4AA, unplayable, but it doesn't surprize me, this kind of eyecandy isn't for free.

In fact we need 3x4 times the perf. of a 8800 U at least.

hows it running so smooth for that DUDE on youtube, what computers where EA/crytek using oO
It probably isn't running that smooth.

Video cameras blend frames, real time gameplay cannot (even with motion blur).

What's it look like in 1024 High, surely you guys will be able to "Play" it at that res, nothing wrong with abit of 1024!

mumstheword

XP all the way.

I'm running at 1680x1050. Textures medium, shaders high and the rest changed in the config to very high and im running at an average of 20fps. It's smooth enough.

Its not a trick,but hey,thanks for the reminder,I am now at 518 down and 59 up (17%) done and closing,utorrent says it'll take another 1.2 hours.

29 seeds and 4519 peers in total. :D

EDIT: OMG,23.8% done now,and I am now reading the readme and rtf files.
Useless since you cannot run it if you havent preordered it. You need to activate it with EA servers.

You people dream too much!
I know lol. Apparently the game is more cpu bound rather than gpu.

We would say first CPU, then GPU, then memory. But it must be in balance. If you are balanced, we are more CPU bound then GPU, but at the same time at higher CPU configurations we scale very well for GPUs.

What about quad vs dual vs single cores? Is the demo multithreaded?

To improve Crysis Performance use Three-way SLI

http://media.bestofmicro.com/H/L/53769/original/05therewaysli.jpg (http://www.tomshardware.tw/170,news-170.html)

a way to steal your money....

if it was more cpu bound it wouldnt be scaling with graphic settings

I'll take that chance tk,and it still may save some of us from having to dl it tommorow.I may likely be able to play it while some here are only starting to dl it in the first place. That is why I am downloading it.

Indeed. it looks more GPU than CPU bound to me.

still would be great to see some in-depth benchies ..

Where can I get this demo? I heard a rumor, that some registered member of this forum has it (and I also thought that, after I read some of your replies).

Troubleshooting
================================================== ================

Please be aware that an outdated video driver or sound driver can
lead to slow and choppy gameplay, or in some cases can prevent
the game from running at all. To ensure an enjoyable experience
with this game, be sure that you have the most recent video and
sound drivers installed. These drivers are typically available
for download from your system or hardware manufacturer's Web
site. If you are not sure what type of video or sound card you
have, or you need assistance with updating the drivers on your
system, please refer to the documentation that came with your
system or peripheral.

For additional help with troubleshooting, visit the community
forums at the official Web site for Crysis at:

================================================== ================
Saved Games and Screenshots
================================================== ================

In Windows XP, saved game files, and captured screenshots for Crysis
are stored in the "Crysis" folder. In Windows Vista, saved game files
are stored in a different location--see below.

To access the "Crysis" folder, click the "Start" button in the
Windows taskbar, then click "My Documents" in Windows XP or
"Documents" in Windows Vista.

In Windows Vista, saved game files are usually stored in the following
location:

C:\Users\<your login name>\Saved Games\Crysis

To access this folder, click the "Start" button in the Windows
Taskbar, then click "My Computer" in the Start menu. Then
navigate to the folder.

Optimizing Graphical Performance
================================================== ================

For a good gameplay experience you generally want to have a fast
and stable frame rate. Additionally, it's good to have quick
response on user input.
