The thing is this is a very nice opportunity for nVIDIA to promote the SLI platform with two ULTRAs, since the G80 was(is) so powerful that far less people opted for an SLI setup this time around. Games that really laugh at my single overclocked ULTRA when I try to run them at my monitor's native res (1920x1200) with aa/af are CoJ DX10 CoH:OF DX10 and Crysis DX10 those titles need SLI with those settings.
We really need a new top performer card from nVIDIA to run crysis DX10 at high-res maximum details with AA/AF. I am still waiting for that promised teraFLOP monster. :afro:
I am not sure even two ULTRAs have the horsepower to run crysis at the setting I mentioned above, people with quad core CPUs and GTX/ULTRA SLI should report the performance they are getting at 1920x1200 max details DX10 with AA/AF.
I hope what Cevat Yerli said in his interview with Shacknews turns out to be true and we get a new top performer card mid november but perhaps he was confusing it with Tri-SLI or 8800GT.

we all saw the sweet looking videos of the game running smooth 3-4 months ago on old drivers and the game looked a lot better than the beta we are playing around with now. My assumtion/speculation, they where running it on a nvidia prototype card yet to be released. Plus it made us all think, let's run and buy a nvidia 8800 gtx cause crysis will be smooth and dx10 good looking. One hell of a commercial trick they played us with, here we are sitting with our 8800 and we get 15 fps on medium settings looking ****. Nvidia made money, wonder how much they paid crytek for the bluff. Now I am sure nvidia has their next generation card ready, but they will not release it in november, why? simply becuase 8800 still rule, and amd is no competition for high end cards. It's all about money, but still we will have to wait until next year to play crysis in its full glory.... that is what i think at least....

I just got an email from ea saying someone has tried to access my account to change the password, and if i didn't do this to change it now.
that means some f*c*er looked at my e-mail addy from the screenshots
i've posted and tried to hack my ea account.
what the hell, don't you lousy pirates have anything better to do?
that seriously offends me, if whoever you are happen to be reading this;
don't even think about it.

I tried to take very high picture but my drivers stopped working. Seems to happen alot when i'm trying to play at very high shaders. Oh well. I was only getting 5fps anyway.

So we preloaders paid for unoptimised demo, everyone else waiting for a month after delay basically will get reamed tomorrow as well. So what exactly was the point of holding on to this slow demo for a month?
I cross my fingers that between now and the actual release that I can play at better frame rates than the demo or else the stock of crytek will plummet in my books. But with rumours of the MP beta improvement in framerates with every release....my hopes are still high.

yeah, im going to be more careful from now on.
i guess not everyone is trustworthy, or fair. how ridiculous that
people are so low they can't even acquire the demo by LEGIT means.
Changed settings to 1280x1024 seems cpu usage increased as well. Using four cores. However I thought the cpu usage on quad would be a higher percentage. :o

Honestly folks, unless you have an SLI8800GTS and above or some miracle drivers are released you can just forget about Vista and DX10 for a while.
You can get the great performance and amazing visuals in XP with some changes in the config that will give you very high settings (except for the settings that require the D3d10 renderer.)
Oh well. Deep down, we all expected this. Time to mangle the config.
mentioned it in the first set of pics...

Sorry Ontariotl :o , thanks for the pictures :)
Just sent this email to EA, I have about had it with this stupid demo :thumbdwn:
The demo loads for me now, I get to the main screen and I can access all the game settings and start the game. It gets to a 100% loaded and it gets to the screen where it says August 7,2020 and the game is about to start and then my whole pc shuts down completely. I do not have any hardware overclocked, all my other games run fine, I have paid $50 for this game and this demo, this is not acceptable! If you cannot find a way for this demo to work for me I will cancel my preorder for the Crysis game. Please help me with these issues asap as I have sent you two other technical information questions with no response.
Thank you, Lee Danton

If you thought for a minute that the internet is an honest place.....you're crazy :D
What's the deal with gamers and their masochistic tendancies when it comes to games? If i hear another person try and defend "future proof" when i comes to games i'm gonna puke.
Sure, Crysis looks amazing at the highest detail levels, sure it's probably the best looking game out there atm...but to what end?
Basically all Crytek has done is make a game that will finally be experienced the way it was meant to, in a couple of years. By that time, there will be better looking games and no one with decent hardware will give Crysis a second look.
When i see people "happy" that they see screenshots of 7 fps, i think they must have been dropped on their heads as a child. I'm never happy if a game i buy runs like ****...never, no matter what it looks like. If i want a pretty picture that runs like ass, i'll wait for the next 3DMark.
Here's the thing, by the end of this year Crysis won't be the best looking game you play, based on the settings you have to play it at compared to other games. Two years from now when you finally can play it maxed out, it still won't be the best looking game...so what's the point, really? What's the point of making a game that can't run on current hardware and isn't a game that people will play for years, like an MMOG, which is the only time "future proof" even makes sense?

Looks more like a farcry mod than a whole new game to me. some shots look quite amazing and others look like 2004. Weird.
I'll say that I'm shocked at the performance, considering how nice the unreal 3 engine looked and ran in bioshock. Damn cry 2 engine. heh

Sorry Ontariotl :o , thanks for the pictures :)
No worries. I have to say even with the fraps displaying some piss poor numbers for frames....at 1680x1050 it didn't play too badly. Yeah sure it wasnt 60 frames....but it did avg around 24 for most parts. I guess it is true when Far Cry came out it needed some serious hardware to push those frames up, the same goes for Crysis unfortunately. My hopes are still high for Nov 16th....but for now...I can enjoy a slideshow from time to time.
In a year or two it will run like Far Cry runs on todays CPUs and GPUs.
this really sucks, I looked at those screens for 1024x768 at very high, and the performance still sucked ass for that resolution, so much for optimized demo lol. I dont care what anyone says but at that resolution when your fps is in the 40's it just plain sad.
UT3 with my ultra at 700/1783/2350 averages 100fps at 1920x1200 but it doesnt have the best texture quality which will be available in the final game so lets take away 25frames and I might still be getting avg of 75 but still way better than crysis.
its just the problem with crytek they dont make the best optimized game engines, now I wonder why every one uses UT3 engine, it looks good and performs excellent.
antoher R600 waiting to happen, lol. all hype.
