but i have to say i think it looks amazing just with DX9 on high settings

i was hooked. and still only at the stage below

loveing it

runs smoothly for me on dx9 too

and it looks much better in the game with everything moving feels very alive

Yeah, I'm spoiled :) Gotta have my 60fps. Even at the cost of higher resolution/AA/AF.

The link provided by khafan worked great for me. Over 500k/sec and no key or anything needed. I don't have a lot of time to spend with it now but the beginning of it seemed to run pretty well. I set it to 1920x1200 2xAA and it seemed to be running fairly well. 8xAF was being forced through global settings. Just made it to the beach though and didn't do much else.

Edit: Rest of the settings were at the defaults, whatever they might be.

Edit 2: At High settings, I was in the 15 fps range at the very beginning.

all because the EA system/servers were down

even had an email just before obtaining the demo that the EA engneers knew of a problem

at least the dload was fast, gonna try in vista tomorrow

congrats to crytek i just hope it can be optimised some more before release on the 16th nov

actually running pretty good (53-75 fps in night beach area - beginning - that's dx9 obviously ;) all adv settings @ 'HIGH')

Specs below 12 x 10 noaa SLi working fine on default profile /w 163.71s

Yes I did (even ran the 64 bit exe). Ran like a slideshow on very high (1680x1050 no aa), but was playable on high (not smooth at all though, just barely playable).

Just tried the demo real quick
On my 8800GTS 320 at 1680x1050 and everything at medium the game runs great! around 45-50fps average I'd say! I could probably run some things on high, but I prefer higher resolution to sharper textures (as I'm not likely to be staring at the walls..).

No, downloading them now. Also, the game dips quite a bit into 12-13 fps when in fights.
