Guys im getting anywhere from 300KB/s to over 500KB/s with this link, its 1.77GB
OH MY #"%"#¤!#¤ GOD THIS GAME IS GORGEOUS!! I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE PRETTY BUT F*** WOW!!
Posting some screens in a sec!
It does however annoy me enomously that the 64bit executable crashes a few seconds into the launching, so I have to go with the 32bit :(
Anyone else having this?

Keeps crashing, 64bit doesn't even make it to the EA logo, just hangs, 32bit gets further, but when trying to go in game, it just hangs the whole system and ctrldel doesnt even work.
I'm downloading it now off that ea link.
107kb/s.... I always get that speed or lower.. no matter what I download...
Guys are you certain that this is the actual demo!? I really find it hard to believe!

64 bit works for me in a window, but it runs like complete crap, has to be worse than 17-20fps, more like under 10, although I didn't check. I haven't ran 32 bit yet, so idk the difference in performance.
edit - 32 bit is the same, I guess I wasn't expecting my fps to stay under 15 the entire time. I guess I know what everyone is complaining about now. I assume <15fps @ 1920x1200, DX10 very high, no aa/af is normal...

First firefight runs around 40 fps in beach village for me - that's XP in DX9 - starting to dip with some stuff going on
Starting to feel some chugging now but playable - guess it's time to stress it in wallpaper mode in DX10 although don't think that'll be playable - at least enjoyably

The 169.01 32bit XP drivers bumped my fps an average 2-3fps, which makes a world of difference when playing at low fps. It feels much smoother now, especially in firefights. Now gonna try the Vista drivers to see if my fps will double. (lee63)

very nice!
Here's the thing, by the end of this year Crysis won't be the best looking game you play, based on the settings you have to play it at compared to other games.
By the end of this year?
You do realize that Crysis is going to be released mid-November, right? That leaves less than 2 months for the rest of the year. Do you honestly think we'll be seeing prettier games by then?
Maybe by mid-to-late next year, sure, but by the end of THIS year? I don't think so, man. No way.
And we've not even gotten to play the snow parts, either, and for all we know they (and even the alien ship) may impress us more than we think.
well crysis on medium settings isnt even the best looking game right now. and someone with an lcd for example, having to play at 1024x768, yeah the game wont look very good even at very high settings

Since it seems to run fine in XP for everyone, can anyone force DX9 in Vista and report back on performance??
Yay for Vista and DX10.

I was running 169.01 in vista 64, so unless 2GB ram is really holding me back, I wouldn't expect much. Maybe I'll try XP now.
Gotta love the ea server, 1meg/second :)

Can't you just right click "Play Dx9" or whatever? I know the beta defaulted to dx9 and had the option for dx10 which did not much.
I think that developers of crysis have some sort of new gpu, how could development be possible at so low fps?

yea you can, which actually will force it to run in DX9. I got about a 5-7fps improvement; it was surprisingly semi-playable @ 23 fps.
