about getting directx9 mode just add -dx9 to the shortcut.
good god it looks amazing and plays so freakin well. needs good drivers is all.
I didn't check core usage but I was too busy finally being able to play the game.
and yes sli works in directx9 and somewhat in directx10. I enabled sli bars using nhancer. I am using the 163.75 drivers and got nhancer to work on them. Crysis has a sli profile just needs more tweaking from nvidia.
I really don't care that much for the directx10 mode unless what I was experiencing before was just bugs. All the screenshots I've seen have been directx9 and that is what I was expecting to see in the game. The other features are meant for the future I'm afraid. We will all see in the next month or so about that.
for now having all my settings on high is kickass enough for me. It's still the best looking game I've ever seen and it's even fun too! gonna play on my 720p hdtv now and watch my framerates skyrocket at the weenie resolution. :D

I want to know what the hell kind of system they are using to see those silky smooth framerates @ Ultra High DX10 in widescreen resolutions cause I sure as hell ain't seeing those...

I ran DX9 in Vista for the first time. It actually has the same performance as XP. I'm surprised.

mums (or anyone with rivatuner): can ya do a vram mem usage test? Preferably in one of the more detailed scenes. I know that even the beta @ med used about 350 peak but I'm wondering if this has been optimized any for the demo (i only had the chance to play it for 10 minutes or so). I was wondering in my last couple days of the evga step-up program if I should go for the 640 GTS from my 320, but judging by GTS640 users' performance it doesn't seem worth it..

Everything High, Textures Medium @ 1680x1050 the total video memory maxed @ 331 and local was maxed @ 299. With high textures, I didn't test it but it ran poor just like in the beta. I think using like 20-40 megs of non-local ram is not a problem. But when it hits 100+ that's where you'll see poor performance.

If I were you, I would step up to the GTX or Ultra.

Dunno what's up, but I get crap 15FPS when playing at 1280x1024 with everything on high, no AA. Does that sound right?

x64 works perfect for me. Not sure what is up with loading times, I'm killing BF2 maps with short 25 second loads. Just might be the single-player demo, however.

Yeah, we all need to wait. I know it's early, but DX10 is so far a disappointment. This pathway was suppose to actually improve performance or atleast have the same. Well, that's not the case in this demo:

Med textures, High everything @ 1680x1050 (no mod config):

DX9:
14-36, avg 25fps

DX10:
0-16, avg 11fps

DX10 Very High:

I doubt a few patches and driver updates will make drastic improvements with the current slew of cards.

Wow that was actually a really awesome video..

The death was pretty cool too. He also had it on everything high...must have a 8800ultra or gtx sli.

Using 169.01 drivers, both DX9 64-bit and DX10 64-bit exes work fine here, no problems.

DX10 however has worse performance at same settings, mouse lag, and the glow bug on the trees.

GPU sitting about 36c and CPU 35c thats while I'm playing!! Playing games like UT3, Bioshock and Jericho I was seeing mid 40s after gaming awhile. Sorry, but Crysis is not working my quad like other games, nor my GPU.

Bioshock made my CPU and GPU get quite abit hotter as do other UE3 based games that actually scale to 4 cores.

Last night I was in the middle of playing then my mum called me out to watch something on TV. Naturally I would have preferred to continue playing Crysis but she said it was interesting.

The program was "2057: The world in 50 years". It started talking about nanosuits and going invisible etc and how the suits are so strong the bullets get absorbed or crumble on impact(like Crysis ;) ). It was like an exact description of the Crysis nanosuits. Then i said.. I'm playing this exact thing at the moment LOL (albiet only 2020 not 2050).

Then I show her Crysis and she's like WOW! :cool: :D

This program was also made in Germany too :p
