Well the intro videos alone already made me pissed! A person should not have to put up with intro videos to play a damn game. I think I'll be cancelling my preorder for Crysis. It runs like ass. What the hell have they been doing for all these years? This thing is not ready to ship! It needs another 6 to 8 months of optimizing BEFORE release. I'll wait for some new drivers and the patch for the terrible demo. Who the hell is gonna bother playing it at 2 FPS?
I guess you missed the "PRE-RELEASE DEMO" thing then? The demo isn't of the final build.

What framerates do you guys with big resolution get? Im running 1920x1200, everything on high apart from shadows medium, I get a good 20 fps, sometimes dropping to about 15 when theres a lot of action. I also noticed something weird, I get 19 fps with water on medium, then 23 fps with water on high :S

More pics. I used the tweaked ini file for these. I didn't notice any drop in FPS and as a few other guys have said, the game is much more playable at low FPS than most other games. Like, in this game, 30 fps is butter smooth where as in Oblivion it's :headexplode:

I love the different suit modes as I've handled the same scenarios totally different ways and been challgened in totally different ways.

I think underwater is still what I'm most impressed with but I can't not grin when I realize that I can go to a far edge of the map in the boat to one of those little deserted islands and look back on the main island and still be rocking 30 fps with everything set to high w/very high ini tweaks.

It'll buff out. One thing I was kinda dissapointed about was when I blew up the gas tank of the hummer underwater, I was expecting a huge blast of water to shoot up.. but no.

What res are you running on the screens above, im getting about 20fps in dx9 (1920x1200, 8800gtx, x6800)

Wow. 11 threads on Crysis on the front page alone... I think people are going a little overboard.

Performance was terrible for me, High settings, 1280x1024 with no AA and I was seeing about 12fps at best pretty much all the time.

2900xt, 2gb ram, X2 4600+ @ 2.88ghz (the weakest link). But still, 12fps is a shocker. I also noticed that during the entire scene where you discover your teammate hanging from the tree, my teammates' body was all see-through and patchy with triangles. Everything else was fine though... Perhaps these new drivers are causing problems.

Great game.... having to play on low @ 800x600 on my 6800GT.... but it is playable.... just.

Do not know if its been mentioned, but if you shoot down a tree low down on the trunk, and then shoot the top part of the tree off before the tree has fallen, you can leave part of if floating in mid air....

the other one is...why..are the rocks so gay -.-....who eva design those rocks...need to be replaced imo...you get this amazing detail..and then in middle of it...some low ress texture rock :(
The rock detail is dependant upon the shader quality setting. If you set it to high or very high they look almost photo-realistic--especially on very high.

What I don't understand is why guys on lower-end systems are complaining about graphics/performance.. like that guy back there while ago w/ a Pentium 4 and a 7800GTX. I mean are you kidding me? 3-year old hardware and you think you're going to run a game of this magnitude w/ good performance?

+1 for the water explosion and gererally not impressed with the waters reaction to anything

1 last moan, The seat swapping in vehichles in the Far Cry 2 vid looks great ,They shoulda done that

Finally, to disable the intro movies, go to your \Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis SP Demo\Game\Localized\Video directory, and rename all the .sfd files (e.g. to ._sfd), except bg.sfd which is the main in-game menu background. This skips all the movies and gets straight to the menu much faster.

I also noticed that if you force AA via NVidia control panel that it causes graphic errors such as missing or corrupt textures. Best to set it to application controlled.

I really enjoyed the demo especially the beginning night mission. The intro was really well done as well. The demo runs decent with my computer (specs below) with a mixture of high + medium settings running at 1024x768. Some stuttering during gun fights, but overall a fun experience.

I got the scope from cryengine2@Sandbox2 editor which comes with crysis, i just added the weapon to the map. There are alot of weapons and vehicles you can add.
I wont post any pictures of it, or i might poil too much :p

All Application-controlled, you can pick all flavors of AA incl. CSQQ inside the game if you can handle the performance hit.

Again, for anyone running DX10, you need to turn the shaders down for better performance. There is around a 20fps performance hit between medium and very high on this setting. Screw all the other in-game settings.. leave them as they are (on very high if you have a GTX/Ultra.) At the most they will make a 1-2fps difference in framerate. Shaders are where it's at, and there doesn't seem to be any way to compensate for them--at the moment. Hopefully Nvidia can release a new driver that'll bring out more performance.
