View Full Version : Crysis Single Player Demo Feedback Thread
I don't know how you guys can do that stuff... don't you want anything in the game to be a surprise?? I'm not touching the editor until after I've played the whole game :D
Same here. I played the demo 6 times yesterday and twice today :D
Everythings perfect except the clouds are lame and I got stuck in a rock
Oh and the bananas have a low poly count
and you dont leave tracks in the sand
Needs more gore
Apart from that it looks the dogs and runs great.
Cant wait to see how it will run on my HD 2400 XT

I tried to download this from Gamespot with their 'Download Manager'. Ended up with a corrupt pile of crap. Now downloading from nzone. :)
I'm not renewing my Gamespot membership. Going over to FilePlanet/IGN.
Man crysis needs its own forum

Allright, benches here,
Forceware 169.01
Windows Vista 64bit
32bit Crysis Executable.
1680x1050, No AA
All settings on Very High, except Shaders and Shadows, which are set to High.
Q6600 G0 : (1600)x9 : 3.6Ghz 1.5v
Corsair 2Gb : Dram 800Mhz 4-3-3-12-2T 2.1v
8800 GTX : 648Mhz - 1620Mhz - 2052Mhz
CPU Bench
Min : 17.69 - Max : 37.44 - Average : 30.26
GPU Bench
Min : 24.18 - Max : 41.12 - Average : 33.28
I find these settings quite playable actually, just hating the Crysis DX10 mouselag.

Now there's a reason for NVIDIA to make an even better video card then the 8800 GTX. A 9800 GTX Dual GPU would do a great job on making the game look and run even better. Plus having a Quad Core CPU will also help. I sure hope NVIDIA makes a dual gpu enabled card next month.

sigh...
So does this mean we're going to have to get a new motherboard with the next generation NVIDIA cards being PCI-Express "2.0"? :headexplode:

WOW...
I just spent 2 hours fixing the new nvidia beta drivers so they could run at 1280x960, and now I find out the demo doesn't even work.
It just stops while playing the intro videos...
Nice job nvidia, crytek and EA... really guys... :clap:What did you do to enable a different resolution? I've wanted forever to have other 16:10 choices than 1680x1050, but haven't been able to get any to work...
i find the game to be quite playable on my GTS320 all @ med and textures @ high. Memory rarely goes over 320mb and the game looks fairly decent to boot. This is at 1680x1050, mind. Performance averages in the 30s. Another thing that really amazes me about this engine is how the framerate rarely dips below 30 - it usually just hovers right there and occasionally higher. Anyhoo, for 320 owners I think this is the best performance/quality balance.

I am with gts320 too, but I prefer to play it on high and partially very high on 1280x800 and it runs at decent fps - playable most of the time. About PCIE2.0 I think that the new cards will be compatable with current MB like AGP8 boards are compatible with MBs supporting AGP4 only.
