Has anyone found out where the blood option in the configuration file is?

It's under game settings on the left

Yes I know that, I was just wondering if it can be tweaked in the cfg files as well, for instance more or less blood, with it off, you can still see blood on the ground, which is strange I thought.

Is there any way to make the menu react INSTANTLY when you click on things? Yeah, it's cool n' all with it drawing and acting all "computerish" but HURRY TFU! :argh: lol

How are you showing off?

DX10 seems to bring a yellow taint to the image whereas DX9 looks bright and vivid. I'm going to play it DX9+effect tweaks in the full game.

That's the post processing. If you change it to high dx9 and dx10 looks the same.

I haven't yet seen sun rays as pronounced as the ones in this earlier vid: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/19965.html

You can edit the sun beam slices with console commands. You can raise the number produced, resolution of them, etc..Looks like they had some pretty stout HDR going also.

And another part of why that vid looked good was due to battle dust (another option you can have on or off). Basically if you're in a fire fight where a lot is going on and trees are falling over and bullets are hitting the ground, dust will kick up and get all in the air and that will make the light rays more pronounced than normal.

Like in this pic. Which before I was spotted, the air was all clear and dust free. You can try it. Go grenade a building down in that area and see all the dust that lingers in the air after the explosion.

zer0, how does yours run with DX9 tweaked?

I was over at my brother's house the other night and setup his with mostly high options and a few very high options and it benchmarked around 27 fps. He's still rocking a 939 system with an AMD 3000 venice cpu, 512mb of ram and a 320mb GTS.

Mmm...battle dust. I like battle dust. I'll try that when I get home! Thanks!

Is it a performance killer?

I didn't notice any difference in performance.

Notice the 1337 framerate you get when playing the ultra low tweak - highly recommendable :captnkill:

Lol, what a wise ass Gaco. :)

I do wish the vehicles in Crysis handled more like the ones in Farcry though.

Hey FastRed is the "battle dust" included in the Ultra settings tweak you posted in that other thread?

This one; http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=1431518&postcount=4

Also, how do you get those mountains in the background looks that good? I know the 64bit version has it, but not the 32bit one :(
Is there any way to add that via tweaking?

How do you get that nice transparancy on the windows? Also, how do you change the default black taskbar to the nice blueish one that you have?

:p

r_DepthOfField = 2 (adds a blur to the moutains in the background)
g_battleDust_enable = 1 (enables battle dust)

What's the difference between 1 and 2 for R_Depthoffield?

There's hope for folks with aging gfx cards like me. Very surprised this is playable at these fps.

2 just slightly blurs the mountains in the background, at least thats the most obvious difference.

And that my friend was with all high settings, 4xaa and 64bit mode, no **** :D

Unfortunately I can't figure out how to enable HDR mode :(

I've tried some console commands but the damn text just ends up on the screen with something like "Jack Carver1: [command here]".. I even tried to start the game up with adding "-DEVMODE" to the shortcut, but with no effect.. Too bad I'd really like to push Far Cry since I'm getting a constant of 150-200 FPS

What do you think looks best and what hits performance the most?

I like having the view distance cranked up. That pop-up crap is really annoying and looks :thumbdwn:
