Did anyone else get a nice boost with the 169.04 drivers i seem to stay in the 40's FPS and around 30 in a fire fight .Rarely does it hit in the 20's anymore .this with XP.
Lack of gore is to do with German laws apparently. Hopefully someone can make a patch in the future.
I wonder how Crytek could **** hard on german law the last time around then..

Now how the hell can we get that into 32bit aswell?
I'd like to know this too. No reason this shouldn't work in 32bit mode.
Also, look at this post by ice, we all are missing the 3D wave look.

Interesting.. It seems that we haven't seen nearly all the cool graphical features of Crysis in the demo at all :D

The laws and the whole "FPS are killergames" debate wasn't very big yet and they made seperate versions. The first German version had less blood and bleeding into water was disabled but all of it, incl. ragdoll manipulation of dead enemies could be easily changed by modifing the config. Since this was so simple to do (and because FC was such a high profiled game) the BPjM decided to put this version of FarCry on the index (doesn't mean banned, but it can purchased only by 18+, and public advertising is not allowed, incl. open sale in stores that can be accessed by minors).
A week or two later Ubisoft released a new German version of FarCry where it was not so simple to enable the previously mentioned effects and this version was rated 16+ I believe. Some guys in the community managed to enable the gore effects a week later as well but no actions were taken by the BPjM on this new version.

I'm a little dissapointed with such little blood content in the demo also. You see the initial burst when bulllets hit, blood splatter on the surface of objects they may be in front of and a little pool on the ground when they die but no blood on the actual soliders once they hit the ground.... just a little gray mark where the bullet hit em. :(
No blood soaked uniforms either.
if you want blood..rent saw... if you want an awesome game..play crysis.
Its like...when good movies stick a sex scene in just because they can, even though it has no good reason to be there. Dude..if I wanna watch people getting nakid..i'll watch porn..atleast then I won't be left disappointed after only getting to see some tits. ^^

I don't want gore. I just want a bit more realism. hell, quake 2 showed the enemies taking damge as you pumped them full of lead. Every other FPS in recent memory also did.
A little gray dot on their skin where bullet went into them is not helping the realistic factor that the game is supposed to have.
The language to violence ratio in the demo doesn't add up.

It's about realism and immersion and it can add the the feeling of satisfaction of playing the game when you can actually see clear effects of your actions. You don't think it's more satisfactory the more realistic an opponent acts and the more realistic it looks when you shoots him with ballistic weapons rather than him just going "aaahh" and doing a little twitch then acting like nothing happened until you finally give him that killing shot that made his HP go zero then all of the sudden he's a dead object that can't be physically affected in any way. No, the realistic physical responding, bullethole showing, bleedin' in the water-style is simply more fun. It's not a huge deal, but it's one of those things that would add so much to the game compared to how easy it is to implement.
When you shoot a barrel with oil and throw it in the water, oil leaks out into the water. When you damage a tree enough in one spot it breaks. When you shoot a house with a tank the house collapses into many pieces and debris go flying. Why should it be any different with gore, apart from the lame law of some crappy ****tard politicians that think violent game will make us all psychos.. Seriously I have played all the most violent videogames and I've never had a real fight in my entire life and I'm extremely peaceful person (60s)
Those Aliased trees are really doing my nut in. It just looks horrible especially the palm trees.

I don't have the screenshot here at work but yesterday I blew up one of the boats in the bay and then swam down to it and it was on fire underwater. :retard:
On a plus side, at least they managed to get a believable underwater "thud" grenade explosion. - 1 for no cool water geyser after said explosion.

Also if you blow up a jeep with a Korean still in it, he isn't burnt .

Nor are their bodies tossed a great distace when an explosion is near.
I was also expecting more vegetation mayhem when explosions go off in their vicinity. Something valve nailed perfectly.
You can park a jeep around a group of trees and blow it to hell and watch as mabey 1 tree falls and the rest just sort of bend and that's it. :thumbdwn:
does crysis use some proprietary physics engine or does it use Havok?

I noticed that too. They should have done something about this.

Crysis uses it's own physics engine, no Havok or Ageia.
Could some one help me figure out how to force DX9 bench marks in vista?

Right click and "Play DX9"?
I dunno if anyone has tried this but I was showing my dad the 8800GT last night when playing the Crysis demo. I jumped on top of a tin roof building (the very first building next to the GPS jammer), enabled Max Strength and punched it, causing it to collapse. Low and behold, I flew up in the air dead. WTF? I tried it again and nothing happened. Weird.

Nice. It doesn't really say anything we didn't already know, but it's always nice to have concrete benchmark data and they also gave DX10 a fair treatment :)
BTW Jonelo how do you insert embedded videos into this forum? The embedded code that stage6 spews out is a mess..
Ah screw it, link's coming. I can always figure out the embedded way later :)

I captured this video while screwing around, I call it "how a grenade can backfire and have indirect and fatal consequences" - be sure to watch it to the end :D

Thats not what i meant agentkay! I mean the texture resolution looks alot better on the mountains in 64 bits mode...
Look:

In XP, the mountain looks like the pic on the left when I use high textures. If I switch to medium textures, it looks more like the pic on the right. Try in 32bit with medium textures and see if the mountain looks better. Makes little sense to me, but there it is (on my aged 7900gt anyway)

[quote="vilian111"]So here is my final mod for Crysis Demo. It adds every weapon in 3 different places to pick up + ammo, it adds alot of more enemies + new boats, cars (tanks) and Helicopter, different day time.[b]
I wont be making any new Mods for the Demo cause there is alot of stuff unavalible and alot of bugs.
