1680x1050 VERY HIGH on all settings. No AA/AF. DX10 Vista

gpu: 17.71 avg
cpu: 16 avg

I'm looking into optimization tweaks but I'm not going to dump some dudes 80 million line config file on it without knowing every single thing its changing from default. ;)

Settings: Vista x64 (32 Bit .exe), 1920x1080, DX9 (Custom Config)

CPU: AVG=21.91
GPU: AVG=27.02

Config is DX9 on high with these modifications:

r_sunshafts = 1
r_Beams = 1
r_BeamsDistFactor=0.01
r_BeamsMaxSlices=200
r_WaterGodRays = 1
r_UsePom = 1
r_MotionBlur= 0

Looks and plays sweet!

this game really takes advantage of quad cores, I mean I can play at 1920x1200 with an average of 32, and it doesnt drop at all if any under heavy action and explosions, and its a smooth sailing with a quad core. I guess the physics and explosions are all off loaded to the cpu.

Something wonky with the min cpu score on dx10, maybe I misread it but it seemed similar to dx9

Here's my 2900xt for comparison

2900 xt @ 800/950, Q6600 @ 3.5ghz Vista/Directx 10
1680x1050, all settings high. No AA/AF

Both scores from the second run

GPU Bench:

Min:7.28
Max :24.89
Average: 21.32

CPU Bench:

Min: 8.85
Max:27.15
Average:20.5


All settings the same except Very High

Min: 6.22
Max:14.84
Average: 12.33

So my video card pulls 12.33 at very high 1680x1050 which is only 4fps behind the ultra! Woots haha

Can somebody with a C2D CPU (preferably running @2.66GHz :D) & stock 8800GTX run a test @1280x1024,2xAA,16xAF all High settings (DX9) in XP & report his GPU/CPU scores ? thanks.

I don't know what's up with mine under vista x64. It runs the test loops fine then drops to desktop and says "can't find specified file" in the CMD prompt when it should end with results.

You not the only one, I have same problem on 32bit Vista, I took notes of avg and max fps in the benchmarks instead.

Ok same settings as Uber : 1280x1024,2xAA,16xAF,DX9 all High XP (gameplay semi smooth all the time)
169.01 , E6700@2.66Ghz , 8800Ultra OC (660/2300/1500)

GPU score (3rd run) : min = 20fps , av = 34fps , max = 46fps
CPU score (2nd run): min = 9fps , av = 31fps , max = 42fps

weird i have lower min but higher av & max!

Nice results! That MSI Ultra is a great deal, the clocks are insane for the price. It's less then most stock Ultras - at least on Newegg.

I wonder what was causing that 9fps min on the cpu benchmark though? Maybe FSB and ram speeds? Might wanna update your sig ;)

Yep i thought about that too. could be the bench is sensitive to to RAM speeds. will update my sig soon! :)

Just ran another bench, same 1280x1024 2xAA 16xAF, but this time @ 3.66GHz; GTX @ 621/1512/1008; 2x1GB DDR2 917 4-4-4-5 2T.

GPU 2nd run: min = 23.8; avg = 33.5; max = 44.33
CPU 2nd run: min = 19.6; avg = 30.1; max = 41.5

Interesting, a 1GHz increase in CPU w/ some GPU oc'ing is pretty equal to those Ultra scores. CPU speed doesn't do much for this game I guess. Rather unfortunate since my GTX won't go any higher :(

You got higher minimum in the GPU test.
