Nothing works for me! When I try to open a video recorded with FRAPS in Virtual Dub I get "Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'FPS1' (unknown)", wtf. And when I try the official DivX Converter I get "Invalid Video Stream". Comeon!! :(

VirtualDub works fine for me.

Some more info:

I'm using FRAPS 2.9.2 build 6725.

I'm using Virtual Dub 1.7.6 64bit edition.

Ok I found the solution myself. 32bit Virtual Dub works, 64bit doesn't :headexplode:

I might as well ask this here, which compression format do you guys usually use?

Maybe the Fraps codec isn't 64-Bit so VirtualDub x64 doesn't see it?... O_o

Xvid or x264 for me, even though I think putting x264 in an AVI container is frowned upon amongst the video encoding gurus.

Ok. After having tried several, I'm pretty impressed with the Windows Media Video 9 codec. Seems to be a sweet spot between quality and size. The Xvid was fugly compression (but small size also) at the default so I'd have to experiment to find the good quality/size setting for the Xvid codec..

Naturally I'd most like the DivX compression to work so I could throw my Crysis recording up at Stage6.com, but I think the height/width factor restrictions doesn't allow me to due to the res I recorded at :(
