Anybody have a review of the 8800 gt vs the 640mb 8800 gts?? I am thinking of replacing my 640mb 8800gts with the 8800 gt but I first want to see a comparison of the 2 . I have seen the msi 8800 gt review but they only used 320mb 8800 gts in the comparison.

Wow!

nvidia must be going for a clean sweep this year. This is going to absolutely murder anything currently available from ATI\AMD.

Its a bit strange that they aren't putting out a faster 8800GTX or ultra replacement though. $250-$500 will offer almost no performance increases at all.

good find!

one thing though people, this review is not using any AA or AF. what you need to understand that even though the GT has ridiculous texture fill rate, due to its 56 TAU compared to 32 on the GTX, its relative low bandwidth act as a bottleneck and 40% less pixel throughput will paint a different picture once AA is used. it will still only be second to the GTX, but the gap between it and the GTX will be larger.

Yea I got the cash waiting here $560 from my old GTX and a X-fi POS that I sold. I just don't want them to be sold out when I go to order!

Did you see the 3dmark06 scores in the Tweaktown review? Almost as good as my GTX in Vista. These GTs are awesome.

Thats a OC'ed card tho ;) Also when you up the ress to 1920x1200 and applyAA they fall back a bit due to the memory buss and SP's... But its still a killer card! :captnkill:

True, but I probably need to OC my card to get that score as well. :o

Definitely a great value for the 8800GT, even if a GTX can outrun it at higher res and AA. It's <$300!!!

I hope no one bought a GTS this week!

Why are you guys waiting for EVGA? The step up program? I'd figure waiting for BFG would be best, with the lifetime warranty and all. Though I've been out of the game for a while, maybe some stuff changed?

I am stepping up to the GTS upon release so for now I will grab the most expensive OC'ed version EVGA has upon release in 10 or so hours
