I am just wondering what you all use to remove the nvidia forceware drivers, before installing new ones.

First, I remove it from Add/Remove programs, then should I use some program, or simply restart and install the new driver?

I should mention I use Vista 64bit (as well as XP 32bit)

Use add/remove, reboot, install new drivers.

Only try some of the driver removers if you get a problem using the simple uninstall/install method.

Alright I will try Driver Sweeper

I uninstall the current drivers from Add/Remove, restart, use this program, restart and install the newer graphic drivers?

My routine is to run the cleaner from safe mode upon restart.

My method.

1) Remove drivers via control panel
2) Reboot
3) Run CCleaner
4) Install new drivers
5) Reboot
6) Run CCleaner

Step 6 there seems like it would not be wise at that point.

I think he means a registry cleaner. Otherwise Step 6 is gonna screw it -.-.

Btw i am gonna give this cleaner program a shot, i used to use driver cleaner pro but i think its not doing its job anymore.

I still cant get the dam NVCP to load up anymore with the latest drivers. Very annoying sometimes...

The way i do it.

Uninstall,
Reboot
Safe Mode
Driver Cleaner, Registry Cleaner (Registry Booster 2), Defrag Registry
Reboot, Safe Mode, Driver Cleaner (Just to be safe)
Install new drivers
Reboot

No. That wouldn´t make much sense.

Step 6 is to search registry for missing associations, etc, but you can skip it if you want, anyway it has always worked for me, never a problem...
