Yeah, I got it working, but oh how annoying it was! :o

I spent a good 10 mins trying to jump up the rocks in the first area. Then I opened the editor to see not only the out of bounds areas, but also the invisible walls they put up everywhere!

Do you know how to get the AI to use a vehicle? I know many of the archetypes are missing even though it shows their name, so I'm guessing that all the AI scripts may not be there either...

Actually, I just remembered seeing that the NK pilot actually gets in the chopper before you see it fly by in the demo. You could clone him easily enough.

Hey guys! I was messing around with the island map in the editor and added a couple frozen bushes and some new textures.

They looked TOTALLY out of place (of course) so I removed them... but somehow they still show up when I play the game? It's very annoying.

Any ideas?? :rolleyes:

I don't recall...

but I went back and checked and the stuff I added is not there anymore. I even saved it again just to be sure.

It seems as though the island.cry file is saved elsewhere...

Well, I sorta saved my multiplayer map file in the editor all mest up, so I guess I'll reinstall the demo shortly.

thats why the first thing you do is back up the single and multiplayer files.

I fixed it. Here's what you have to do... if you make changes to the island.cry file, open it back up, remove the changes you made (if you still can :P) and then go to file -> export to engine to make the changes stick.

BEWARE, this will corrupt all of your saved games AFAIK. The game kept crashing on me when I tried to load a saved game and then I realized that I would probably have to just start a new game which I was already wanting to do :D
