1280x720 looks like ass. I've tried every aspect ratio scaled down from 1680x1050 on Crysis, and they all look the same. Very blurry.
That's the thing about high-res LCD's.. you must run native for a decent picture.
That's why i'm still stuck with a 1280x1024 LCD. There's no way to run my fav games at higher res with my personal prefs for AA/AF/FPS.
That rumour there gave me a stiffy for a second. Damn.

High-end D8E has two G92s
Under the dual PCB hood
We found out that D8E, Nvidia's high-end answer to Radeon 3870 X2 dual chip card, is indeed based on two G92 chips.
We suspected that Nvidia would use them, and finally we can confirm this. This card is planned for early Q1 and it looks like it will be faster than R680. The logic behind it is quite simply, as we suspected: if a single G92 leaves RV670 in the dust, then two of Nvidia’s chip should be faster than two of ATI’s.
Nvidia will have two PCBs interconnected with two power connectors, one 3x2 pin and one 4x2 pin and we’ve seen that ATI will use the same. This board will need more than 200W, but it will be the real high-end deal.
We guess that Nvidia needs to focus on driver development, as Crysis still doesn’t work in SLI and the dual chip card needs a great SLI driver.

Nvidia's D8E to launch in January
Dual G92 card
Nvidia’s new dual G92 high end card will show its face in January. We wrote about this timeframe back in September and nothing has changed so far.
It's beginning to look great for Nvidia as ATI’s dual chip 3870 X2 card is supposed to end up slower, but then again ATI can do Quad SLI and Nvidia still can’t.
D8E will only be limited by its 256 bit memory interface but it will have 1GB of graphics memory or should we say 2x512MB for each chip but the second chip should kick in and help this card ending up like the fastest Nvidia card of all times.
It is inconvenient that the card should launch in January, just after Xmas sales but we are sure that Nvidia did everything that was in its power to pull this product in December but simply could not make it.
Maybe the D9E will be the replacement for the 8800GTX.

"Nvidia won’t launch Geforce 8800 GTS 512 cards based on G92 on the 3rd or 4th of December as many implied. The new date is the middle of the month, between the 12th and 14th."
Where is the 1gig version? :banghead:

Tim']I'm pretty sure it's just the GTS with the added shader units. There is no new high end on the last roadmaps I saw till Q1 2008.
Yup, I definitely agree!

I think I'll wait for the GX2.
I'm hinking of that too, as long as I don't have to have a sli board to make it work.

The good thing about the GX2 is that you don't need a SLI board to make it work, but with a SLI board you can get two of them and do quad SLI.

but with a SLI board you can get two of them and do quad SLI.
Which is a complete and utter waste as its performance is usually worse than that of regular SLI.
