View Full Version : Any hope for DX10 in Crysis?
Well despite the marketing of DX10 as the next huge thing, I can't help but think that this game could have been optimized much better in DX10. The largest user base right now falls into DX9 more than likely, so of course they are going to make sure DX9 runs the best it can.
I'm hoping that further optimizations will be made in DX10 mode, as I imagine it was sort of on the back burner when it came to releasing this game. Any other thoughts?
I hope so, even a little optimization will go a long way with the community so heres hoping they will continue to optimize the game as far as possible.

Agreed. I'm not expecting anything major, but I see no reason why DX10 on High is slower than DX9 on High.
I'm certain that improvements are coming soon :)

I'll take jAkUp's word for it.

It took farcry like a month before it was playable for alot of people.

There will be a lot of demand to optimize this game... most people that buy it won't have the hardware that most of us do.

I think more optimisation will come from drivers than crytek themselves. They'll be fixing bugs, adding mp levels (maybe?) and working on an expansion probably.
Of course there will be optimization for DX10 Crysis, but WHEN it will be, that's another issue :D
Nvidia took a long time just to get 1 DX10 driver out that would actually work with the game, I'd bet we'll for sure see some driver optimizations as this is THE game that both Nvidia and ATI will want to be able to say "look how good it runs on our hardware"
