View Full Version : Crysis benchmark results - Comparison thread
This is a mini performance review of Crysis to compare a stock modern day PC to a faster over clocked machine. The standard resolution for these tests is 1920x1200 and I will be using 2 settings, high and medium.
Test System
Intel Q6600 @3GHz
EVGA 8800GT KO
"675/1688/1950"
4GB DDR2-6400
Intel P965 Chipset
All settings set to "high" Overclocked results

*and don't forget to post yours! :D
Seems like I won't be getting the 8800GT. I have a 24" monitor so I want to play Crysis at 1920x1200 with very high settings (at more than 20-30fps).
* Saving money for the 9800GTX. *
Very helpful charts, great FPS at medium settings. I bet the right balance of medium/high would be able to reach similar performance. For example I'm sure you could raise textures to high without too much of a hit.

Hello Captain Obvious...
I'd like to see some maxed settings Crysis benchmarks on that PC at something like 1280x960.
I won't be even considering building a new PC until I can get that res at max in Crysis with a min fps of like 25fps (and optimally like 50fps average).

same here would love to see a res with one of these cards at very high settings with shaders set to high.
Nice. Finally found a place where I can verify my results :)
Guys I will run any and all tests you can think of in any combination!
Just specify the ress you wish me to run it at and the in game settings ;)

I'd like to comment on the scores that users posted in your thread but I am going to restrain my self ;)
*Tests were done with Vista Ultimate in 64bit with DX10
Correct results

8800GTX@630/2000 rez at 1280x1024

just overclocked the card to see how much performance I get from it and it's not really worth the overclock. That's why I don't have the card overclocked.
Hey I screwed up that benchmark. I had dual displays running. I just installed the .04's instead and put it to single display and I got some new results for you. :p

nice results. Makes me think even more about selling my 8800GTX since I don't play at high rez. I will try those drivers out and see what kind of difference I get.
*EDIT* the new drivers lowers my avg a lot but increase my min. Don't like them going back to old.
*EDIT* im pissed...I can't get my framerates back like they were before.

Cya in 4-5 years even if 9800gtx doubles performance of 8800gtx you will maybe avg 30fps at those settings. :p

hmm not much difference between 32 and 64 bit in DX10, in fact in most cases 64 is marginally lower.
i was hoping for that 10-15% increase everyone was talking about (so much so that i spent a good part of my day installing Vista 64)
