Nice review, but for a board that features an onboard X-Fi, I would have thought we would have seen more on it, instead of a quick mention at the end. I mean is it a full X-Fi? Cut down? Just my thoughts anyways. :D

Wow, I totally forgot about this review coming on the front page lol. The 8800GT release kinda delayed everything. Anywho, thanks everyone for reading! It was a REAL hard job to review a motherboard. Video cards are easier :D

Crainger, I haven't really done a ton of research on what "type" of X-Fi chipset that is on the motherboard. MSI's website doesn't say anything specifically so . . .

And just in addition to the review and getting more time to use it, I do have ONE quirk. My CM 690 case has a mic port on the front top and my headset's cord isn't long, therefore I use it. My mic works but the input volume is really low. I have to yell into the mic just for someone to hear me. I probably just need to download some new drivers or BIOS flash, but I'll have to put that on hold for right now.

Thanks again everybody! I've got a Inno3D 8800GT I'm currently reviewing (and enjoying :D ) so keep an eye out.

Nice review, Andrew. I'm buying my upgrades now, on Black Friday, too bad I don't have a spare 200$ for this beauty.

Haha, who am I kidding, I'm taking your advice and I'm actually dropping a bit more on the P6N Platinum.

Hey hey buddy! Yeah, this mobo is very nice but I don't see the point in shelling out $250 just because I do not run SLI. Don't get me wrong, if you are in the market for an enthusiast motherboard with tons of features such as SLI, RAID and X-Fi audio, this is the one to get. It's a pretty sweet package.

So, if you are going build a high-end gaming PC soon and want one of the best motherboards out there with the best chipset on the market today, I'd recommend getting this board. However, if you are NOT going the SLI route and don't really care about having the best of the best and features like SLI, RAID or X-Fi audio, you should get a $100 motherboard that suits your basic needs. Only you know what you will use and what you have in your wallet! :D Good to see you on the forums!
