Thought I'd draw attention to this card.
Out of the box it beats 8800GTX on 3dMark 2006 by over 500 points.

Ain't the EVGA SSC card clocked at the same speeds?

you're right. the EVGA SSC card also has 50mhz more on the shader clock than this one.

Same. The Gtx is going on ebay because of the higher 3dmark score  . I wonder how it performs with Crysis at 1920 x 1200 with everything set to high.

Who cares about a 3-year old benchmark that uses no AA or AF and runs at 1024x768 resolution?

If you can get one that will do 775 with a 2k shader clock it will be about even with a GTX @ 660 on the core and a 1600 shader clock. That's without AA or using medium levels of AA.

Some folks are indeed getting cards that do 710-735 and I wouldn't bet on it. I've heard a few fellows @ XS say they tried a few cards before they broke 700. One guy couldn't stay reliably above 670.

Two in SLi @ 700-730 with a 1750-1850 shader clock would make for a nice set up though considering price vs performance, unless you game above 1920x with filtering.

3 year old bench mark? Don't forget everyone doesn't play at super high resolutions. I'm going to sell my 8800GTX card and get me one of those high clocked GT's and have a lot of money left over. I play at a max resolution of 1280x1024 and don't ever plan on going higher then that so this card should be perfect for me.

u do the best

i use 1280 pixel too and at that res the best is 8800gt

i sold my 8800gts and gonna add maximum 10 dolar to buy 8800gt (nana2)

true but my point is that i think at 1600x1200 4xAA or higher the GT runs out of memory and gets like half the FPS of GTX/Ultra... speaking of 8xAA... im gonna go try it now and see what i get :p

just tried it in DX9 all high except textures modded to very high

1920x1200 no AA - 38FPS - 380MB VRAM usage
1920x1200 2xAA - 28FPS
1920x1200 4xAA - 23FPS
1920x1200 8xAA - 22FPS
1920x1200 16xAA - 21FPS - 650MB VRAM usage

Precisely. At least they could run a benchmark or something.

I game at 1920x1200 with my gt overclocked at 775/1950/2000 on water, and It performs great, timeshift, lost planet, ut3 demo, hl2-ep2 all perform great.

I'm very happy with mine but the stock cooler leaves a bit to be desired. It really isn't up to high OC's even with the fan on full. Well I suppose 700/1700/2000 is pretty high, but it does go alot higher with better cooling. Nkd has proven that.

your point is moot however because the GTX doesn't have enough grunt to play Crysis with AA anyway - both cards struggle.

the GT handles AA fine in any other game @ 1920

wow I am shocked at how many people are still running nice PCs and video card on crappy low res monitors. But like some have pointed out that does have an advantage that you can turn up the eye candy more. The fact remains even turned up it does not look as good as on a decent monitor at 1600x1200 or higher.
Currently my 22" WS is 1680 x 1050 but I am considering that new 28" WS that is out for 600 bucks. Tha will be sweet, but I might need more power than one GT for that. ;)

:p

1680x1050 is high res ? I'd say 2560x1600 is high res :D

wonder just how crysis will abuse the 8800GTS (G92) at that res

Seriously, who still games at 1024 x 768 anymore?? :p

I wish more people would do benches for us who have higher end rigs. Do some benches at 1920 x 1200 with at least 4AA and 8AF!!

Exactly my point, running benchies at 10x7 is just silly:captnkill:

it may be silly but i'm sure mosts gamer don't even game above 1280x1024. I was using my HDTV to game on with my PC, but I sure don't plan on keep having to buy hardware just to keep up. So I plan to play at 1280x1024 on my PC monitor or 1280x720 on my LCD HDTV and if I can play at 1920x1080 on my HDTV i'll play at it. So many of you complain about Crysis being ****ty because it can't play on your rigs...well damn of course it won't play at 1920 x 1200 and above.
